Courtesy of one Andy Katz...
After picking us as team of the week, here's what he said in today's chat...
Pete (DC): Can we pleease talk about georgetown? What's their ceiling?
Andy Katz: (5:03 PM ET ) Elite Eight? Nothing would surprise me. The team has oodles of confidence, a difficult system, big men who can alter shots and a legit lead guard.
Thats about as sucinct and accurate as it gets. The boys are definitely playing with that oft talked about "swagger" (for the first 39.5 mins of the game anyway). I assume he's talking about JW as our legit lead guard?

I appreciate the sentiment, but NO WAY are the coaches leaving everyone from UConn off first team...just can't see it happening

You'd think he could come up with a better defense like that, altho this was written pre-Pitt

with Chris Dortch, editor of Blue Ribbon College BB, was...
Darrell (Alexandria, VA): What do you think about Georgetown's resume? Do you think it is impressive enough to earn them a 3-seed at this point? Or is that just Hoya Paranoia on my part?
Chris Dortch: The Hoyas' resume gets shinier by the week. I don't think what you're suggesting is unrealistic to this point. Wins over Duke and Pitt are attention grabbers!

I think this was just a case of JT3 riding with his vets and was going to live and die by his top 6...hard to argue the results...Egerson played only 4 minutes if I remember correctly.

I turned to someone in the bar I was at and said I hope we don't rush the court...glad to hear that it was stopped...we would have looked silly, like we didn't think we would win. BothSides is right...let's act like we've been there before

WHOA WHOA...lets not get crazy...I don't even think we want a #1...i think the pressure skyrockets and I'd rather try and say under the radar...I think a #3 or 4 is most likely at this point, unless of course we win out (regular season and BET) then I think we move up to a 2...honestly I think we are best off at a 3/4 to keep some of the pressure/hype off

ABSOLUTELY AGREE...Brandon played great, no denying that and I agree people need to let up, some how this went from talking about BoBo in The League to what he did wrong...let's just appreciate what we are seeing here a 6'9" who handles the rock, can hit the 3 and jump out the gym...sure he makes mistakes but come on give him his due

Did anyone else hear Donny Marshall say that during the telecast? And it wasnt like he said it once, but numerous times. Has anyone else heard anything like this? Is BoBo a projected 1st rounder?!?!

perfect 4 is going overboard...the reality is that he is not big enough to bang with a lot of elite 4s in The League...I love Jeff Green but put him on KG, Duncan, Weber, Dirk, Jermaine O'Neal, Sweets, KMart and it creates a tough matchup. Of that group I'd say he's most similar in build to KMart but less explosive. Not a knock on Jeff, just reality.

Do people think V is annoying - sure, but he's also much more visible than some of the more technical writers. Look, hate him if you want, but its still good press and while we are on the rise, let's not scoff at good press, where ever it may come from

Giving some more love to the Hoyas... Big East Ready to rise: Georgetown (13). Record now: 15-4, 6-2. Projected record heading into the postseason: 20-7, 11-5. The competition is tough, but the Hoyas are on a roll and get five of their final eight games at home. Sophomore forward Jeff Green appears to be regaining his freshman form, averaging 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists in Georgetown's last three games. sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=forde_pat&id=2316283Also takes a shot at Maryland...gotta love that Ready to fall: Maryland (6). Record now: 13-5, 4-2. Projected record at season's end: 19-10, 9-7. Nik Caner-Medley is playing at a heroic level to compensate for the academic ineligibility of leading scorer Chris McCray, but the Terrapins are fighting uphill. Six of their remaining ACC games are against teams that are .500 or better in league play.

We are in the "also getting votes" section, plus Andy Katz has us at 14 in his rankings, saying, "Other nods go to BC for holding its own and to LSU for playing like a top-10 team (Georgetown is close). " sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2316370

He reinterated that he won't give any detials on time frame, and that their are still issues to be worked out (I am assuming money and neighbors). He did say though that McDonough CAN'T sit for 25 more year in its current state the way it has for the last 25 years because it is basically wasted space on a campus where, as we all know, space is at a premium. He said the plan has been for a long time to drill down and drop the court while rotating it 90 degrees. It seems like McDonough is on the list of things to accomplish, just not sure when
