Did anyone else hear Donny Marshall say that during the telecast? And it wasnt like he said it once, but numerous times. Has anyone else heard anything like this? Is BoBo a projected 1st rounder?!?!

He also predicted Brandon would be a GREAT, not good NBA player.

What do you expect from Donny Marshall? An in-depth analysis?

I think Marshall was offering a little hyperbole. He may well have spoken to a scout who really like him, but the general projection for Bowman coming into this year was a second rounder or undrafted. I think he could be a player in the NBA, but "drooling" is definitely an overstatement. Chad Ford, DraftExpress, all the other draft coverage I've seen has him as a possible second rounder.

BB has the athleticism But he needs that consistency -- and the CONFIDENCE that Marshall mentioned. Suggesting he will be a GREAT NBA player when he has yet to be a great college player is a stretch.
Marshall also talked about "Hoya basketball" when he mentioned the steal, break and lay-in, and the defense creating the offense. That was Pops way, but it isn't JT3's way. Marshall sounded a bit out of date with that comment.

Marshall also commented that "shooting 3's is not Hoya basketball"......I know he's announced at least one or 2 of our other games this year but I guess he is stuck in a time warp.

We all know that Bowman definitely has the athleticism and size for the NBA, he's just a little crazy and out of control sometimes. If he plays with more control and poise, he will be very good at the next level.

He fouled a jumpshooter with less than a minute to go with us leading by 10. On the subsequent in bounds he turned it over which resulted in a Pitt 3. NBA scouts notice that too.
We have to do a better job of making fts. Wallace's misses in Duke and Pitt scare me.

I stopped listening to Donny Marshall after he commented that "we used to run the same play with the Nets" after Wallace hit a 3 from the top of the key coming over the top of a screen. I'm quite certain Donny Marshall never counted as part of a "we" in the NBA. Maybe he saw it a couple of times from the bench at best.

I think the turnover on the inbounds wasn't bobo's fault but the inbounder.

Bobo also stole the ball, got a key rebound, and hit freethrows down the stretch. Why do people always focus on the negative with this kid? I swear, he can't catch a break. Some people on this board seem intent to slight him at every opportunity while giving free passes to board faves like Green, Wallace and Hibbs.
I'll say it. We wouldn't have won this game if BRANDON hadn't shown up and taken over the last 5 minutes of the first half or provided the key three to put us over the hump in the second. Say what you will about him, but we live and die with Bobo.

ABSOLUTELY AGREE...Brandon played great, no denying that and I agree people need to let up, some how this went from talking about BoBo in The League to what he did wrong...let's just appreciate what we are seeing here a 6'9" who handles the rock, can hit the 3 and jump out the gym...sure he makes mistakes but come on give him his due

Furthermore, it was Bobo helping out on Gray that shut him down. On so many possessions, Green was actually out on the other doofy white forward and it was Bobo holding his own in the key against the 7 footer. That is onions, my brothers, onions.

Worst of the many terrible Donny Marshall comments today: telling that "young fella" (Jeff) that he needs "a couple more years" before he gets that basket-and-one on the second half drive where the refs absurdly called the foul on Kendal but refused to count the bucket.
Has Donny Marshall ever made that play IN HIS LIFE? How would he know?

The BB "great" comment was a little too much. On the other hand, great game BB!

Brandon was incredible. He did it all for us. Great game. My gripe with him and the rest of the team is that they have to keep it up for the final minute. We were up 10 with less than 60 seconds to go and almost gave it away.
After ND, I would have thought that he would not have put himself to be in a position to foul a guy shooting a jump shot. He did it.
Was Brandon the passer or the receiver on the inbounds? I thought he was the passer, Cook the receiver. I may be wrong.
JG was incredible too but his missed front end (plus Wallace's) could have doomed us.

Donny was also incessantly comparing Krauser to a Sherman Douglas-Isiah Thomas mix...come on!!

Yes, our guyes made a few mistakes down the stretch, but they were down 15 to a top-10 team in the first half. They turned that into a 10 point lead with :30 to go. The great play -- and coaching -- this team received today far outweighed their mistakes. Hats off to all of them!

Brandon was the Cooper Tires defensive player of the game.
I'm hard on Brandon most of the time, and usually am justified. But his second half today really was great, and to do such a nice job after a sad first half showed some mental toughnes that we need out of him. Owens' shooting today was really the only disappointment, but all our guys can't be on every game. The Wallace free throws don't bother me because he hadn't even been to the line yet, so it's hard to take your first one in that situation. GREAT GAME, GREAT WIN, GO REDSKI . . . I MEAN HOYAS!
