Courtesy of one Andy Katz...
After picking us as team of the week, here's what he said in today's chat...
Pete (DC): Can we pleease talk about georgetown? What's their ceiling?
Andy Katz: (5:03 PM ET ) Elite Eight? Nothing would surprise me. The team has oodles of confidence, a difficult system, big men who can alter shots and a legit lead guard.
Thats about as sucinct and accurate as it gets. The boys are definitely playing with that oft talked about "swagger" (for the first 39.5 mins of the game anyway). I assume he's talking about JW as our legit lead guard?

By using the term "lead guard," at first I would also think he was referring to JW. However, given that Ashanti Cook is a senior, both guards play similar roles in the Princetown Offense, and that a few media outlets have mistakenly identified AC as our pointguard, my bet is that he was referring to Cook.
Of course, you all know I'm a big AC fan. However, now that we're on the topic, my love for AC takes nothing away from my affinity for JW. He has proven to be much more than an adequate stop-gap walk-on pg that many thought he would be. He is a heady, tough and talented player, who has arguably improved as much as any player on this team, and appears to have a legitimate chance at cementing his role as a 4 year Hoya starter!
LET'S GO HOYAS!!! SERVE ST. JOHN'S!

It's great that we cannot identify who he's referring to as our lead guard. It says that both are playing well and leading the way.

JW was way underestimated by all of us... myself included. I bet he will be a 4 year starter. It would take a helluva player to come in and displace him. And he is still only a sophomore.

So, questioner Pete from DC misspelled "please" and didn't capitalize Georgetown. I got a working theory...that couldn't possibly have been "Screamin' Pete" could it?
Like the answer. Personally, I was sold on Jon's leadership qualities and fearlessness after the "Down on the Farm" article, standing up to those cows like that, unlike team fraidy-cats Jeff Green and Tyler Crawford.

yeah i was wondering who the legit lead guard was... also im starting to think that we cant be a sleeper in the tourny anymore- we are the talk around the nation, but as far as i kno, if we keep doing what were doing now, we can beat any1 just like we did with duke.

He's definitely talking about Ashanti as the "lead guard". he called Ashanti our PG in his team of the week thing.
WHo cares...it's awesome to have two guys who can handle the point and run the offense.

From the Jeremiah Rivers thread, it looks like we won't skip a beat re: guard play.

given the lack of punctuation and poor spelling i'm going to guess it was SoCal85.

given the lack of punctuation and poor spelling i'm going to guess it was SoCal85. So he's using Pete's name... to sound cool? be more noticeable? earn enough cache to get a gtown question posted? he forgot his own name?
