Hi Guys!!
Take a look at the Pitt message board. There are two separate threads congratulating Thompson on a great coaching move.
He took out Hibbard and doubled down on Gray on defense. On Offense, Gray couldn't guard the quicker Green. As a matter of fact, Gray, Gray couldn't guard anyone on the floor from Georgetown.
What a coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

150% correct. Brilliant by JT3. Anyone who doubts his coaching ability still is out of their minds. We gave up 14 points in the first 19 minutes of the 2nd half to pull out a close win... you don't get more solid than that.

Agreed except we shouldnt have to go down by 15 points before figuring that out. Double gray like doubling shelden. Krauser aint no JJ.

It was like "swapping queens" in chess. Essentially we traded Hibbert for Gray and bet we had the pieces to win. With Jeff and Brandon, we did.

Hilarious post on the Pitt board:
"Anyone notice that Graves' first step is always a travel? You'd think after three years he'd learn how to put the ball on the floor first."

It wasn't just Green...it was also BOWMAN guarding the 7 footer. Tell me that wasn't an awesome job by two guys giving up considerable size.

JTIII coached great, and I couldn't believe Pitt's coach didn't call a time out when our lead went from 4 to 10 towards the end. It looked like Pitt was just folding, and the coach didn't call time to regain composure. Of course, they did end up making the run at the end, that was late.
Great win!

Yeah, it was a GREAT adjustment. You know it didn't look so great when we were jacking 3's in the first half while the guy who rather easily scored the first 6 points in the game sat. But Jeff had whatever he wanted from that point-forward spot in the second half against Kendall/Gray...really complete game from him. Defensively was a great adjustment too...actually, we created a TO on the first possession of the game by doubling down on Gray, and we went back to it (and really took the ball pressure to a new level...Krauser and especially Ramon were getting it the entire half from Cook/Wallace/Owens). Just a great one, really took control of it when it mattered.

That adjustment saved the game. Gray was owning us underneath until III made the move.

This is not the first game that JTIII uses his strategy of changing big men during the game to create mismatches.
Wait until next year... a lot of teams will not be able to keep up with us.
