Great win!! I haven't been this pumped about basketball in a long long time (then again, I'm a Knicks fan).
Not to put any kind of damper on things, but it seemed to me, and it was mentioned during the broadcast, that some fans were getting ready to run onto the court when the final shot missed.
People, we are now a legitimate contender. There should be no thought of charging the court until we win in the round of 8 to get to the final four. Let's act like we've been here before.
Go Hoyas! Beat the Johnnies!

Yeah, despite protestations from the student crowd, many people clogged the aisles on the home bench side and tried to rush. The MCI Security did a good thing and muffed the court rush, and there were not enough followers to really force the court rush to happen.

Boo. Rush the court. Rush the court against Savanah State. Rush the court when you lose. Rush the court at half time. I'm in favor of all of it.

If we beat WV or Cuse on a buzzer beater, a court rush might be appropriate...

I turned to someone in the bar I was at and said I hope we don't rush the court...glad to hear that it was stopped...we would have looked silly, like we didn't think we would win. BothSides is right...let's act like we've been there before

I have to agree with you guys. This definitely was not a rush the court situation. I think we've proven now that we're legit.

Sitting courtside, I turned around after the missed shot - there was almost no push to rush the court. As JT III approached the press table across from the bench, some did group together closer to the floor to chant "JT III" and the like.

Who was attempting to rush? Definitely not on our side and if anyone was in general they weren't people who would be posting on or reading this board. But I wouldnt be surprised that a few drunk kids would want to rush the court.

There were section crashers/failed court rushers on the home bench side, 007. I think it may have been folks who wanted to get a court rush in after missing out at the Duke game, but I could be wrong.

I agree that the court rush would have been a bit much today, but I'm just having so much fun with this season - I wouldn't be angry.

Preaching to the choir here. The students who actually know basketball realize that court rushing when you're a ranked team is silly. However, there are a lot of jerks who want to rush the court just for the sake of doing it, and in most cases, these are folks who know little about college hoops (and often times, they're intoxicated to boot).
I was happy MCI staff prohibited it. I would've been a little embarassed if our students would've rushed the court like fools. On the side I was on, with 007, nobody really tried. I saw that some folks on the other side tried, but were thwarted, thankfully.

Absolutely do not storm the court in another regular season game, no matter who we beat! We are back in the big time and haven't been gone so long we ought to act like we're new at it. It almost ruined the win for me when I saw a few idiots try to run onto the court.

From where I was sitting, those trying to rush were in the minority for sure. There's no reason for us to rush today, for the reasons everyone else has said - and especially after the Duke game and a 5 game win streak (and 8 at home!).
On another unrelated side note, one of my good buddies totally shut down the lone Pitt fan in the lower part of the young alum section by simply clapping at him. It was beautiful.

Yeah i was unaware of any attmpts to rush the court. Although MCI has been putting up people to stop us the past two games even at the cinci game when we won by 20.(?) Yeah i felt bad for them cause if we really wanted to rush they wouldn't stop us. they'd just get trampled. But yeah i see no reason to rush the court anymore. A ND esque theatric finish might force one but i hope we don't have to pull out any games like that.

I was on the home side right on the aisle where about 15-20 kids were collecting. We shouted at them for several minutes to sit down and not rush because it wouldn't be prudent. They refused to listen to us and we just told them to expect to get stopped. The ushers were fantastic in stopping it. They were fantastic the whole game actually. A few of us cheered them after they stopped them.
Rush Duke yes. If Nova was a home game and we won, maybe. Pitt? We know they're overrated. If we hadn't beat Duke it would be different but now it's just stupid.

I had more violence and cursing, but what do you know. ;D What's great though, is in my mind anyways, those guys are gonna forever be...the guys who got COMPLETELY OWNED by the MCI Center Security staff. Yep, bunch of guys in purple sweater vests shut you the F down by LOOKING AT YOU and putting their hands out. Awesome stuff!!

I say let them rush. Once the few that rush (after a win like today's) realize that you shouldn't be rushing the court with a win against a #9 seed, the rushers will learn a valuable lesson.

We still have Cuse on the schedule, at our place. That is all I have to say. Ummm, this is a joke right? Syracuse is unranked and falling like a stone. Seriously, are some students that attention starved that they need to make a ridiculous spectacle of themselves? I hope the majority who have responded here are right and that the fans can help show the world that Georgetown is back, not some goofy fluke with silly fans who can't control themselves after a win.
