Talk about a tough call.
Without thinking about it too hard and not choosing by positions:
First Team: Mike Gansey Kevin Pittsnogle Randy Foye Quincy Douby Jeff Green
Second Team: Steve Novak Rudy Gay Chris Quinn Carl Krauser Allan Ray

I appreciate the sentiment, but NO WAY are the coaches leaving everyone from UConn off first team...just can't see it happening

Good question...don't forget they give someone Player of the Year and then do 5 first team so it's really 6.
POY - Foye
1st Team: Gansey Ray Pittsnogle Green Gay
2nd Team: G-Mac Quinn Douby Novak Hicks
3rd Team Gray Krauser Williams Dean Whitney
Bowman/Hibbert will get screwed due to their "ower numbers"...even though I'll take wins.
This isn't what it SHOULD be, but the coaches are idiots. They LOVE Gay for no real reason.

yes, i underestimated the Gay obsession. But don't they also seem to favor Green?
I can't imagine McNamara being first team. That would be laughable. The real question is whether they'll penalize people like Quinn and Douby who play for terrible teams.

I moved mine around a little. I think Douby gets moved down and if we keep winning Green will move to 1st team. the coaches did make him co-BE Rookie of the year so they have a lot of respect for him.
Gay shouldn't be there, but they are fools.
Quinn is good enough, but that record kills him.
I moved G-Mac back and brought up Ray. Coaches love the best players on the best teams.

For the same reason, no chance is a Nova guard not on the first team. Foye (and Gansey) made SI.com's mid-season NATIONAL all-american team. Rudy Gay ain't makin' nothing. He's been invisible until his last 2 games.
BE 1st team: Foye Douby Gansey Armstrong Hicks
2nd: Ray McNamara Novak Green Pittsnoggle
All-Rookie: James Downey McNeal Inman Padget (not a frosh, but a rookie)
POY: Gansey COY: Crean

As much as it pains me, Douby is 1st team.

They don't put the POY on the first team. But the more I think about it, the more I think he's right. Gay will make first team no matter what happens. I'm not sure how confident I am in WVU getting two guys on the squad, but remember we're doing this as of today. If they lose three or four games from here on out, that probably won't happen. By the way, I didn't ask about a rookie team. Stop tooting Marquette's horn.

in that case, Gansey moves up and out of 1st team, and Ray takes his place. Chris Quinn takes the final spot on 2nd team.
have you been listening to Jim Calhoun tear Rudy Gay a new one all season long. the guy has had 2 good games. i'll take some straight up action right now that Gay does not make first team all conference.

he should never have tied Jeff for Rookie of the Year last year, but he did.
My guess is that there will be a significant negative impact from having played so few teams more than once, and some not at all. There will be a lot of reliance on aggregate stats and hype, which is why Gay is in good shape.

This whole unbalanced schedule is going to make this vote totally unreliable. it's going to be a stats game or over support for guys you've played against.
How does JTIII evaluate Dean or Whitney or Copeland? Pretty tough this year.
Totally agreed on the voting now vs. end of the year. Lot's of credit is given to teams at the top.
At least I feel like Calhoun will give Green a fair shake...and may give JTIII his coach of the year vote too.

Something tells me JCalhoun was fairly impressed with Steve Novak, Tom Crean, and Marquette, too. I'm all for an 18-game conference schedule in this league. Everyone plays everyone else once, with 3 mirror games. And changes should only be made to the schedule every 2 years, after home and homes can be fulfilled by teams playing each other only once a year. The last thing Marquette and Georgetown needs is 2 more games against Howard or Oakland.

wow this is so hard to call with so much talent in the BE. you haven to think that the first and second teams will have at least one player from Nova Uconn and WV on them.

Obviously I love our boy Greenie.
But I don't see him getting first-team honors. If the media is picking this, well all know certain players are going to be on the list.
Gansey, Gay, Snog, Armstrong, Williams
Maybe Douby sneaks in... but the media loves who they love.

Green is one of the best five players in the league once the BE slate started.
