Here are Macklin's stats from last year. He may have been a great kid, one of Bilas' favorites. He was a great athelete, but had very little basketball skill. He could have spent 5 more years in the program, and he would never be a big time player. One of the most disappointing recruits I can remember, especially considering he was a McDonald's AA. We could use his 12.8 minutes per game, but we just need any body. 25% FT shooting is just pitiful. I am not trying to "be a hater" and just "bashing" because he transferred. Just telling it how it is. We'll see how he does in the SEC, but I do not expect much.

I like the Memphis Game Notes describing Calipari's UMass team beating the Hoyas in 1996. They neglected to include the fact that UMass forfeited its final four appearance, and I believe the entire post season for cheating. www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-4389678.html

I may not be the best judge of talent since I thought Duane Spencer had real NBA talent. We used to run an iso and he would take his man of the dribble. I started this thread not to bash Sims. I think the point is that he is not college ready. He should turn out to be a very good player. I thought I posted this yesterday, but do not see it. One more item, a higher post count does not equal greater knowledge and insight.

What is with Henry. I realize he is a freshman playing in a complex offense, but he appears to be completely uncomfortable and lost on the court. His game seems to be that of a two guard and not of a center or PF. I think he needs to not shoot 3s unless he is holding the ball with the shot clock winding out. However, if we are in that position, the team is in trouble.
I watched all three games from the Old Spice. We have some incredible players, maybe as much talent as the AI teams. If Zo had a Freeman or Summers at his side, we may have been a final four team instead of second round exiters. Give the team some time and we will be ok, but expect a lot more losses in the BE this year.

I don't think I have posted in years. UMass cheated. Their post season record for that year doesn't count, they had to give up the wins. Next time a UMass fan gives you grief about the loss, just remind him about the cheating.

Sorry, not a chance. Bowman is a much better player and is in the D-League. Now if Bowman had the fire and energy of Ewing Jr, he would be an NBA starter.

We went years with no dunkers. We dunked a lot tonight. Great game by Summers.

Didn't Nat Burton have some big shot in the NCAAs in 2001. I was talking about how great the Don Reid shot was, but I think that was to win a tie game. This shot prevented the loss and was clutch, huge, awesome, and so on.

I say no chance, unless we have major foul trouble or the game is a blow-out. I think he is turning out to be a project, which is disappointing for a McDonald's guy. I am not sure about his basketball talent, besides running and dunking. He is shooting a mere 46% from the line (10 of 22). I know Jay Bilas has talked very highly of him, but I have also read some negatives. One of the recaps of Macklin's national team performance said he had trouble understanding defensive schemes. I hate to be so negative on a freshman who has barely played, but I was expecting much more from him this year.

No travel, Jeff was getting fouled. How about the 3 charges in the first half? Total BS (at least Roy's was).
