From Simmons's annual ranking of the NBA's top 50 most valuable assets on Grantland 22. Mystery Player B All right, release that thought (from Mystery Player A, ranked no. 32 in Part 1). Contrast these 2011-12 numbers … Mystery Player A: 29.4 MPG, 16.2 PPG, 11.4 RPG, 1.2 APG, 1.2 BPG, 43% FG, 73% FT, 21 PER Mystery Player B: 32.7 MPG, 16.4 PPG, 10.3 RPG, 2.5 APG, 0.6 BPG, 50% FG, 79% FT, 23 PER Slight edge to Player B, right? OK, so let's say Player B is a normal guy … and Player A is an unpredictable loose cannon who may or may not have just gotten his first coach fired a few weeks ago. Now which guy are you taking? Here's the point: Boogie Cousins gets more hype than Greg Monroe; he got drafted two picks ahead of him; his upside seems like it should be higher; he's more fun to follow; he has a better nickname; and he's always going to seem a little more overpowering when he has it going. In the Grantland headquarters, we've probably had 20 Boogie Cousins conversations and 135 moments where Jay Kang cackled, "I LOVE BOOGIE!!!!" I don't remember anyone discussing Greg Monroe even once. I'm not even sure half our staff knows what he looks like. Just know that Sacramento would flip Boogie for Monroe in a cocaine heartbeat … and if the roles were reversed, Detroit would hang up.

Jeff Green appeared to be very healthy. Hopefully he will be back next season. Anyone know where D Summers is these days?

Hollis will have to get a lot stronger if he wants to have a chance to play in the NBA. He can shoot from long range which gives him a chance. However, he has shown a lack of ability to finish in the paint and around the rim. I know he has hit some circus shots, but he does not go up strong and cannot over power anyone. He falls away and does not do well with contact. He is working on the turn around, but I do not see him in the post in the NBA. He really needs to improve his dribble and be able to pull up for the midrange jumper. Rip has or had this ability. Hollis can rebound, but seems to get them with his length (Always an important attribute on draft day) rather than leaping ability. He will not have this advantage in the NBA. Dajuan actually impressed scouts with his strength and ability to guard. 6'8" guys are a dime a dozen so Hollis needs some improvement before he can expect a roster spot. He obviously needs to work on his FT shooting. He has no rythm and does tends to fall back. Bruce Bowen was a good corner 3 pt shooter, a great defender (mayber dirty) and a poor FT shooter. He had a very solid NBA career on a great team. Comparisons to Reggie Miller are a reach.

Henry should take some pointers from the guy that was sitting behind the Hoyas bench last night, Jahidi, and dunk every ball you get your hands on within three feet of your basket. He uses the backboard too much. I had the same complaint about Monroe. Henry has missed a few in close that he could have thrown down. Jahidi had to dunk it otherwise it was not going in. FYI, Henry has 98 Ast (45 this year) in his career compared to 23 for Jahidi. Jahidi: www.hoyabasketball.com/features/top100/j_white.htm

Really a shame that he has not been able to get into better shape. If you look at some of the NBA rosters, there would definitely be a spot for him in the league if he lost 50 (maybe 100) pounds. I remember when he lost 20 pounds before his Junior year to make himself more mobile. He is listed at number ten on the Hoya top 100 list. www.hoyabasketball.com/features/top100/m_sweetney.htmEdit: obviously this list is a little old and might include 1 or 2 guys in front of him.

I compared the players names listed in the Celtics box score to those listed on the roster. The roster lists 15 including Green but not Sweetney or Gilbert Brown, both of whom are listed in the box score. Since Sweetney had A DNP, I suspect he does not make the roster. Any Celtics fans with info on this. Maybe if he can make the 15 man roster he can be in a good environment and get into NBA shape.

I think Sweetney was on the Celts summer league team last year. He looked really big and then hurt himself running the floor. His life and millions are at stake so I hope he can get in shape.

I saw very little of Greg playing last season. He was forcedto do theclear out for Tmac and Stuckey and try to get his offense on the glass. He was also handed the ball at the end of the shot clock. He will definitely benefit from any other coach, hopefully somenew teamates as well.

From ESPN's 5 on 5 regarding Greg Monroe: sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=5-on-5-1107063. Which rookie is ready to rise as a sophomore? Jordan Heimer, ClipperBlog: Greg Monroe isn't a sexy choice, but that's why Detroit fans love him. Despite being a center who plays mostly below the rim, Monroe was the Pistons' best player for most of last season, averaging better than 13 points and 10 rebounds per game after the All-Star break. He's crafty, hardworking and surprisingly quick on defense -- in other words, a perfect Piston. Jonathan Santiago, Cowbell Kingdom: Like most rookies, Greg Monroe didn't get much publicity because he played for a terrible team. But after a shaky start, he proved to be one of the most reliable players on the Pistons' roster this past season. In 25 games following the All-Star break, Monroe averaged a double-double for Detroit. I like his chances of improving even more his sophomore year.

Ok then. I actually read the Wash Times article. It said: "He was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, used when a driver’s blood alcohol level is .08 percent or higher, .." The only way to make this charge is to have a breathalyzer test with a reading over 0.08. I am not aware of diabetic ketoacidosis (a condition that occurs whe someones blood sugar was very high) causing a falsely elevated breathalyzer test.

Anyone else constantly amused by how many people suggest that one of the keys to winning games next year and reasons we lost games last year is scoring more points then opponents and holding opponents to fewer points then we score? I'm willing to bet all of my money (Seriously, all of my money. PM me and we'll set this up) That the Hoyas will win every game they play next year in which they score more points then their opponents or hold their opponents to fewer points then they score ;D ..fewer than.... How many points are you giving on this bet?
