All right Hoya Fans, let me start the debate.
Where does Jon's 3 pointer in regulation rank with clutch shots in the history of the program?

I think you'd have to equate it to shots taken on this type of stage...
Only big-time shots I can remember were taken by Smitty...LSU in the '88 tourney...

I don't know where that shot ranks, but I do know this: It should bury FOREVER the asinine crapping on our guards that's been going on since the preseason, and should serve notice to all of college basketball that Wallace is simply an outstanding player. He's as calm and understated as almost all our guys (except for the awesome energy of PE Jr.), and just as clutch as the best of them. And that is saying A LOT!

And Jessie was incredible today. The way he was taking it to the hoop- that was supposed to be what Lawson was going to do to us. Just a great game by the guards!

J-Wall is what this program has needed for years... a heady guard who knows when to take his shots and runs the offense. He is a true QB for this team and a leader. One of my favorite players in Hoya History. Viva J-Wall!!!!

Lawson/Ellington - 10 pts. Wallace/Sapp - 34 pts.
This shot is up there with Don Reid's (if I remember correctly) flip over the shoulder on Iverson's air ball in 1996.

gutsy shot...without a doubt...a great shot in one of the greatest games...in perspective it is part of the mosaic that the whole team put together: roy playing with four fouls, jessie slashing to the bucket, jeff getting key rebounds, pat playing physical so that unc couldn't take anything for granter...j-wall should be extremely proud for comming through in the clutch...the whole team should be praised for their guts.

I don't think Gottlieb can look past the fact that J. Wall was a walk-on. He'll never give him credit because of that.

Big onions shot, no doubt
People just dont understand how good of a coach we have. Unc guards consistantly got in the paint and set their big men up for easy layups!
Why do u think we trailed the entire game? Unc penetrated and made our D rotate so much that there was no weakside rebounding and they got numerous easy put backs
When did all that penetration stop? When we went zone!! Why did we go zone when we did? B/c if we went to it earlier, it would have given unc additional time to create some openings
This game was won via coaching and players. U can not separate the two

Clark Kellogg, in the CBS pregame show, said that he thought nobody was giving proper credit to the Hoya guards, specifically mentioned Wallace and Sapp as solid, heady players who had both had a great tournament so far - and made them as much a key for a potential Hoya victory as Hibbert being able to stay in the game.

Didn't Nat Burton have some big shot in the NCAAs in 2001. I was talking about how great the Don Reid shot was, but I think that was to win a tie game. This shot prevented the loss and was clutch, huge, awesome, and so on.

Absolutely incredible shot--even more incredible when you consider it follows up the game-winner from Jeff. I believe I started a thread early in the season saying a big problem on this team was that no one was stepping up to be that go-to guy who really wanted the ball when the team was struggling or needed a big shot. Now, not only do we have more than one guy willing to do that, but we have guys who are just plain willing the ball into the basket. This team has developed so incredibly in so many ways this season.

The gameplan was for them to penetrate and kick, and they did that to perfection ..........until the zone came out of no where

Weak Backcourt? Who are you kidding. Clutch, Clutch, Clutch. Take that, Gottweeb. ESPN should begin looking for less bias talking heads. Hoyas guards are as clutch as any in NCAA. JW is a clutch as they come. Sapp comes up big at crunch time. Rivers plays BIG D when needed. Next up. Buckeyes. One at a time., One at a time.
