Even if Jeff or Roy didn't pick up one single foul it would still see foolish for Vernon to not give them a rest considering how deep UNC's bench is.
Other thoughts:
-Jeff Green needs to pull Brandon Wright away fro the basket. Otherwise Brandon could play the Noah role and come over for the weakside block when Roy is posting up Hansbrough (like Noah did last year when Roy posted up Horford).
-Wallace must take every open shot available. Or almost every open shot. He has to score in double figures for the Hoyas to win.
Summers (and/or Ewing) must outplay Terry. Unforrtunately Terry may be all fired up thanks to Billy Packer's comments.
Sapp must play solid and under control. It would be nice if he knocked down some jumpers but I would acept his not turning over the ball. Getting a few assists and containing Lawson.
-It would be great if Green has one of his very best games today.
-Big JT on Westwood One just said what I've been suggesting: Roy must be aggressive on offense early and the Hoyas must get him going from the very beginning.
Does this team have a Duke '06 victory type of performance in it? I hope so.

I think stealing a few minutes with Macklin tonight would be huge
But with all the TV timeouts, maybe he won't see any time

Macklin will play today--maybe not a lot--but he'll play some. Key for Hoyas is to control the boards--watched Maryland-UNC game and Terps just killed Heels on boards. Wes Miller is only in to shoot 3's--he can do nothing else--so just play up on him and force him to put it on floor. MCI said rest of what I feel and any day is a great day for CHARM CITY NUTTAGE--time for it to appear for entire game!!!! BTW--a word of advice to PE JR--intimidating/blocking shots is great--but please don't channel your pops with the goaltending--thank you. Heels will be a bit loose with ball themselves and the Great White Hope will throw himself into defenders--so just have to hope they let it play out--Hansbrough is typical ACC big--he gets credit for being physical but most of it is him hurling his body into defensive players to create space due to him being undersized. He was punked against anyone who was either tall/athletic. Sick and tired of hearing about this team being the "best team..." they are very good--and so are the Hoyas--just play our game and I more then like our chances today.

Macklin - absolutely. He'll be essential at some point, fouls or not.

If GU falls behind, and picks up the pace to catch up, Macklin will play. I think he would do well in a transition game.

"Terry, in my estimation, has always played soft," Packer said. He later added: "There are some guys that know how to play hurt and there are some guys that don't."
"He has his opinion," Terry said of Packer. "Billy Packer has been around the game long enough to know better. Soft? That's foolish. It's offensive to be called that. I try not to let that sort of stuff bother me but I will say that if Billy Packer played in my day, I would bust his . It would be a massacre.

I say no chance, unless we have major foul trouble or the game is a blow-out. I think he is turning out to be a project, which is disappointing for a McDonald's guy. I am not sure about his basketball talent, besides running and dunking. He is shooting a mere 46% from the line (10 of 22). I know Jay Bilas has talked very highly of him, but I have also read some negatives. One of the recaps of Macklin's national team performance said he had trouble understanding defensive schemes. I hate to be so negative on a freshman who has barely played, but I was expecting much more from him this year.

He was 4-5 from the line against Belmont.

The negatives you appear to have read were comments by one writer covering one event from a year ago.

IMO Macklin should play early vs. OSU and GUARD Oden ala Graham and Ralph guarding Hakeem in 1984-85. Hibbert is too key to our COMPLETE offense to have to deal with the 40 year old Freshman. Let Oden deal with "The 7'2" Experience" (nice to see his patented top of the key spin lay-in) on d and keep Roy fresh and out of foul trouble. Remember Vernon plays against Roy and Jeff every day in practice.
