From the Mountaineer page: "No, I don't take tie breakers into consideration! But if you really want to here is the formula, and here is a table of head-to-head team records."
I believe the sort order is conference record first, overall record for conference ties (not applicable to BET seeding).

Here's the link to the review (registration required). Highlights: "Spit out from the Feinstein sports-book factory just four months after "Next Man Up," "Last Dance" is particularly shoddy." "The book is packed with lazy banalities ("Making the Final Four is special for everyone"; "There is nothing quite like the tipoff of the national championship game") and sloppy factual mistakes (he leaves Arkansas off the list of repeat finalists since 1976, and despite the rampant Dukist slant, misidentifies the university's president, Richard Brodhead, as "Robert" Brodhead)." "Feinstein is not just a woeful writer; he's a woeful writer who repeats himself." "Is it too much to hope that "Last Dance" might be not just Feinstein's last "Last" book but his last book?"

Thanks for the excellent report. He sounds like a great, raw athlete - how would he compare to Hakim Warrick?

Any guesses as to our rankings for this week?
I'd say 20 in the AP, 23 in the Coaches' Poll.

Part of the reason GU players aren't showing up on Big East leader boards is that they don't qualify in particular stats categories. E.g., 3 pt. % requires 2 makes per game, but our big 3 don't average that.
Cook: (31-66) 0.456 Wallace: (35-77) 0.455 Owens (35-84) 0.417
They would be #4-6 by percentage in the conference if they qualified.

Is the DVD the HD version of the game?

Here's the Bowman dunk from the baseline angle: LinkIt's really no trouble for me to extract these clips, but I've only got basic cable, so I don't get to record that many games.

CO, you don't by any chance have the reverse angle of the Bowman dunk? The one shot from under the hoop. Probably, but not at work - I'll take a look tonight.

Just a few clips tonight: Hibbert with a hooker in the lane LinkBowman's two fast break jams LinkSapp hits a 3 (mostly because I said he couldn't shoot earlier today) LinkIt was so ugly, even David Wingate scored Link

it'll be weird next season to go from little depth to tremendous depth. I wonder about that. We'll be loaded up front, but what about ball-handlers and outside shooters (I think the delineation of players into guards and forwards is unimportant in our system)? We're losing 2 great shooters (Cook and Owens) who can really neutralize zone defenses. And Cook was able to destroy the Duke trap with his cross-over to split double teams. Bowman and Owens also are usually as good or better dribblers than the player that matches up to them. Sapp looks to be a lousy outside shooter (15% (4-26) 3-pt), and Egerson doesn't have a large enough sample size (4-10 3's) to say. I'd also be surprised if Rivers gets much run barring injuries, based on JTIII's usage pattern so far. To me, it looks like The Dagger (2-3 3's) will be a big key to next year's team, and our outside shooting depth will limited.

That story also says Jeff Bzdelik has brought the Princeton O to the AFA, which is patently wrong. Seems Joe Scott can't get any love this year.

I know people don't like to talk about Vegas and all, but I did check last night and on the futures piece the Hoyas are down the 11th best odds to win the National Championship. Duke is +250 and UCONN is +500. We've gone from +20000 (where I got my bet in early this year) all the way up to +1100 or something around there. Unreal...and we all know how smart Vegas truly is... For the gambling illiterate, what do those numbers mean?

Let me be the first to congratulate Tony Kornheiser for correctly predicting at the start of the season that the Hoyas would be top-15.

I guess the Colorado - Iowa St. game went unnoticed. Surprised the Buffs stayed in the top-25, esp. over LSU and Kansas.

Okay, I extracted a few clips from the game today - not quite the drama of the Duke game, though! As always, give the clips some time to load. My pick for the turning point in the game (Bowman: and one) LinkJeff abusing Gray in the 2nd half LinkBrandon recovering nicely on defense . . . Linkleading to this on the next play LinkAnd finally, Cook breaks down Ramon (watch the bench!!) Link

Franky, for most of the game, it wasn't really close.

Speaking of power ratings, ESPN's new Power 16 is out - nary a sniff of G'town (except noting that Pitt should be wary of us). Seton Hall apparently is more worthy, what with the "others receiving votes" nod. Link
