I'm not sure that you can deduce that nyc - it doesn't say what year these tax records are actually from. It could just be that Thompson and the provost were getting paid more than Esh - which wouldn't surprise me. I don't know how soon tax returns from the University would become public record. From the article: "Tax forms from the fiscal year ending June 30, 2004 — the most recent forms available — show that Thompson received $405,943 in salary and $26,826 in benefits and deferred compensation. The previous year, he received $400,529 in salary and $26,871 in benefits."

From the 1982 team page: "In what everyone thought was a sure-fire first national championship for Coach John Thompson and the Hoyas, Fred Brown inexplicably made an errant pass in the closing seconds with Georgetown up one on North Carolina and it was intercepted by James Worthy."
Apparently, the Feinstein fact-checking methodology is spreading.

Listened too. Kenna pretty much nailed it.
Well, as far as I'm concerned, the BB&T is off the table for the next 10 years or so. The bum clearly still has an agenda against G'town.

Nardi also smacked M. Williams in the back of the head on a UCon fastbreak - Williams got a personal and Foye (!?) got a technical in the ensuing aftermath. Vern and Billy (and the rest of CBS) missed it.
Between Nardi and Lowry, Nova is gonna be a chippy team next year.

Gotta figure SHU is off the bubble with that loss, unless they can win 1 of the next 2 (Cinci, @ Pitt)

Hope the USF game can be used to let BB work out his shot. If Brandon can find his jumpshot during the next 10 days, the Hoyas become a much more dangerous team.

See previous thread. Damning quote from the NY Times article: Last year, Lutheran sent at least 11 players to Division I, including two each to Mississippi State, Texas-El Paso and Tennessee-Chattanooga. Other former Lutheran students play for Washington State, Middle Tennessee State and Temple. Omar Williams and Maureece Rice are key players for No. 6 George Washington. The freshman Marc Egerson plays for No. 23 Georgetown.
Don Haman, Egerson's coach at Glasgow High School in Delaware, said Egerson earned a core-course G.P.A. under 2.0, scored in the 600's on his combined SAT and never graduated from Glasgow before going to Lutheran.
"I wonder about it myself," Mr. Haman said of Egerson's acceptance to Georgetown. "But I can't say anything if he gets the score and gets into school."

If McClain does verbal to us next month:
1) Would this finally confirm JW's scholarship status (i.e. he isn't on one)?
2) Would this kill recruiting buzz for Gtown for at least a year? We'd be out of scholly slots through 07-08, as per the recruiting thread.
3) Where would an incoming class of Freeman and McClain rank nationally? Hard to project this far out, but are both considered 5-star type prospects?

I'd argue about the charge call some more, but I just read YB's last post in the ballroom dancing thread, and I've completely lost my train of thought. Wow!!!

How was that charge on Downey "ridiculous"? Fat Bastard, err, Majerus agreed it was a charge, and the Nova kid definitely had his feet set. I only saw 1 replay, so maybe it was a bit of a flop, but it was hard to tell from the angle I saw (straight on).
Otherwise, didn't watch all of the game, but it sure did seem that Lowry and Foye always get the call driving to the rim.

One reason we are underwhelming some fans as defensive rebounders is that we mostly play a 2-3 zone, which makes it more difficult to find a man to box out.

ESPN has an interesting article regarding an anti-trust suit filed against the NCAA. LinkWithin said article is a table listing the most profitable bball programs last year (per US Dept. of Ed.): Team Revenue Profit Louisville $18.5 $13.1 Arizona $16.6 $12.5 North Carolina $15.0 $10.2 NC State $11.4 $9.0 Illinois $11.3 $8.1 Indiana $11.9 $8.1 Wisconsin $12.0 $8.1 Minnesota $10.4 $7.6 Ohio State $11.4 $7.4 Kentucky $12.9 $7.2
