Yeah it's funny but this is something HoyaBlue or any Georgetown fan should not be involved in. These are unpaid college students not professionals. Leave this kind of stuff to DOOK and Maryland.

Does anyone know if there is a ceremony planned before the game? If so hopefully the 12pm start won't mean too many people will miss it.
Does HoyaBlue have anything planned?
This is definitely the best graduating class we have had since Othella/Jerome. For all the struggles they have gone thru - it would be great to send this class out with a win over Cuse and a soldout MCI.

Favorite quote after the game:
Despite all that, the senior guard finished with 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 36 minutes. When asked after the game if Cook had suffered a "coccyx bruise," a fancy way of asking if he'd hurt his tailbone, Thompson scoffed.
"A coccyx bruise?" he said. "The boy fell."

At the end of his show today JTII said he loved to see the crowd surfing the students were doing at the SJU game and really praised the students for the support this season.
The efforts of HoyaBlue/Athletics etc. is really paying dividends and I think a sellout for the Cuse game would be a great sendoff for the seniors. Anyone have any idea if that is a possibility?

We should remeber that every contributor on this team excluding Sapp/Egerson were Esh's recruits. Esh was not a good coach, but he was a good evaluator of talent. His last year as coach, when almost nobody seemed to be interested in coming to Georgetown - he brought in Green and Hibbert. (2 future NBA players). Not bad. Esh needed to get better X's and O's assistants, since that was his weakness.
I think he feels like he could have had the same success as JTIII - you need this type of confidence to be a coach in the Big East.
If I was a low D-I school looking for a coach or a major program looking for a top assistant I would hire him because he can find talented underrecruited players.

Reasons to be scared:
1. ND hasn't played since Friday and their guys will be fresh.
2. Brey had 3 full days to focus on us.
3. JTIII had 2 days to plan for ND- but has had alot of media distractions (which is a good and bad thing)
4. We really only go 7 deep and our guys may be tired after all the excitement.
5. We have to travel to Indiana.
6. I think ND will cram the middle and take away our backdoor cuts - forcing us to make open 3's - if you're tired open 3's are alot harder to make than layups.
7. If you're tired its hard to get out and guard Quinn/Falls 3 pt shots.
I don't think we are overlooking ND but I think we still may come out flat because of tired legs - I hope I'm wrong but I am very concerned.

Just to pat myself on the back - Here's my post from Friday:
We have experienced years of disappointment, heartbreak and unmet expectations. But Saturday is our time. We deserve it. Many people on this board have remained fans through some pretty bad years. It hasn't been easy to be a Georgetown fan. Its easy to be a Duke fan - there is no suffering, no Braswell missed threes or Drew Hall heaves from Half Court. We've paid our dues, we stayed the course and we will be rewarded Saturday. We will win because we want it more. Owens, Bowman and Cook have suffered with us. For all the criticizing we have done of them -they have stuck with this team when it would have been easier to join there friends Bethel and Hall. These guys deserve a win and some respect - Bowman/Cook and Owens may not write poetry like the great JJ Reddick but they have represented our univeristy well. They have all been classy individuals on and off the court and they all appear on course to receive degrees. I predict preformances from all three of these guys like we've never seen before. They know there time left in college is short and they will find a way to lead this team to victory.

Approximately 20 of Jessie's friends and family were at the game last night sitting behind the basket right by Georgetown's bench. They were really into the game and when Jessie scored they along with a lot of Georgetown alums went crazy. There was a pretty good Jessie Sapp chant at the very end of the game and after the game in the tunnel there was another very loud jessie sapp chant. Jessie's family seemed very appreciative of all the support. Great job by Georgetown fans showing up and making a lot of noise. You could see the shocked look on our players faces when they were being announced and got loud applause.

If we played in the BB&T at MCI would those games count as homes games for us.

Best dunk I've ever seen in person was Willie Talyor in a pre-season game at McD. He took off from alittle inside the free throw line and dunked it over some stiff. He got called for the charge but I've never seen anyone get off the ground like that.

How can Katz have UNC with an up-arrow. Did he watch the NBA draft? Does he know they lost every decent player they had? Since when does a team of David Noel and some good recruits warrant an up- arrow.
Katz is clueless.

With Allen Iverson's selection to this year's all star team it marks 20 consecutive years that a georgetown player has been selected.

1. This was the worst year of GTOWN Hoops in my lifetime and attendance was around 8G----so if we are good and attendance gets up to 15G--why play at an 8G arena. (Note: it will not be possible to get approval in Georgetown for anything over 8,000 and even 8 will be stretching it)
2. US Air is very different than MCI---if MCI was around in the 80's we would have sold the place out all the time. Many more students would have gone to games without that awful bus ride. Also, many more local alums and local fans would show up because of the convenience of MCI's location.
3. I'm not saying an on-campus arena wouldn't be nice but if JTIII can bring the program back--it won't make sense to spend millions on an arena that will be way to small for the amount of people that want to come to the games. For all the raving about Cameron Indoor the media does: most students can't go to the games and the ones that get to go have to camp out for days.
We are in DC not Durham----and if you think playing in an 8G arena vs playing in MCI would help recruiting you are wrong.
Right now the only reason people don't like MCI is because fans don't show up---if we win that won't be a problem

I think most people underestimate the value of MCI.
1. You can't get top of conference teams, like Duke, to play you at a 7,000 person on-campus arena.
2. If we win--MCI will be filled--Georgetown basketball is is best sports value in town and if we would win the local community will come out.
3. Playing at MCI center is good for recruiting----There were at least 5 recruits at the Duke game and when you see 20,000 people at a college game (even if there were a lot of Duke fans) that is a big selling point.
4. what game will we play on campus(NOT UCONN/Pitt/Cuse/Louisville/Cincy/ND/NOVA/Providence/SJU-when they get back on track) maybe Rutgers/South Florida/Depaul
I think we should play all BIG EAST and good non-conference games at MCI and crappy non-conf. games(MEAC teams) at an unchanged McD.

FOTP----Roberts is NOT a better hire than JTIII. Hiring someone who's only head coaching experience was a failure is not better than hiring a coach that was a winner.
Recruiting is very important but coaching is more important. See Texas Tech's first year under Bobby KNight.
