We are very happy to have him back home also. From everything I've heard your brother is a outstanding coach and more importantly an outstanding person.
Welcome to the Georgetown family!

I saw Chip Sims at the big east final. Anyone know what he's up to or if there is any chance he'll be back as an assistant.
Favorite end of bench player has to be Gharun Hester.

Patrick Ewing is the greatest Georgetown player of all time. Jeff Green is the second best Georgetown player of all-time even if he doesn't come back next year.
Jeff Green did what no other Georgetown player could do since Ewing. Take Georgetown to a final four.
Green has to be on any all-time team list.

www.thehoya.com/news/042800/news3.htmHere is a link to the Joe Lang proposal - 5,500 hopefully could be pushed to around 7G, but I really think there isn't a better more practical and more realistic option. Why spend $$ on a practice facility if an on campus arena is possible for around the same price.

The best and most realistic option.
1) Dig down in McD (like they did at Saint John's) and turn the floor. There was a proposal for this. It is probably the cheapest way to go. Hopefully we can get capacity around 7G. Play all games on campus except for the 5 or 6 biggest games. (just like NOVA does). Yes I know tickets will be hard to get for many of the games on campus - that's fine by me. If we have a 7G arena on campus - every seat will be held by a season ticket holder. Therefore, even the worst game of the season will be sold out. Student tickets will be same price - non-student ticket prices will be sky high - with very large donation requirements like there are at other big basketball schools.
Will there be a lot of issues getting it approved - probably so but it seems like we have the mayor on our side and this is an issue that could bring together all students for a commen goal. Students can vote and can run for positions on the city council - let's make it happen.
The John Thompson Convocation Center. It would not only be for hoops but for concerts, speakers, graduation etc...
The price tag would probably be the same as building a new practice facility so why not go all the way.
THIS CAN BE DONE!!

There were a lot of people on this board killing Darian Townes for going elsewhere (whether it was a later move at the time or not). A coach should be subjected to higher stanards, because they are highly paid(even on the midmajor level) professionals and supposed leaders/educators.
Doesn't matter if Beilein moved to Michigan, Kentucky or Iona - if he told incoming players he would be there and he didn't intend to stay that's a bad job.

I think some you guys should try looking at this from the perspective of the recruit. I think it is very likely (although I don't know for sure) that recruits asked Beilein about him taking another job. i would be very interested in knowing what he told them - my assumption would be that he pointed to the new WVU contract he signed (maybe he did maybe he didn't - I think its more probable that he did).
All reports are that he wanted to go to UVA, NC State and now Michigan. It seems like he never had any intention of staying for the long term with WVU - if not my issue is that he deceived 18 year olds - many of whom are coming from low income families and are making one of the biggest decisions of their lives based on what this coach told them.
Of course this is America and Beilein can choose to do what's best for him and his family but if he did it at the expense of kids that really needed him and counted on him - that's pretty sad. It may be the common practice and maybe there isn't one coach out there that would tell a recruit the truth but its still wrong.
If it was you or your son that got left behind I don't think you would be saying good for John - way to go get that $$$.

Can't expect a kid to see through a coaches deception. Scottie Reynolds clearly was deceived by Calvin Sampson (thanks for the info but even now that I know I don't think the guy deserves to be called by his correct name). I do have a problem with a coach leaving to make more money when they are already making a ridiculous salary. 99% of the kids Beilein recruited will never see any NBA money but he was able to use them to make his riches and then drop them when he wanted more riches. If a coach is thinking about leaving I think he has a moral obligation to tell a recruit - is it likely this will kill his recruiting YES. But it would be hard for me to live with myself if I gained the trust of 18 yr old by lying to him and his parents just so I could make myself even richer. Unless Beilien really didn't think he would be leaving - I think he's a jerk along with any other coach that would do the same thing.

I hope that guys like Dick Vitale and the like express outrage by what Beilein did. He never had any intention of staying at WVU - he tried to bolt to take any job that was offered to him. The kids he recruited are really left in a bad situation and I doubt he told them when they were recruited that he was looking at leaving soon. He probably pointed to the contract extension and said he'll be around for a very long time. These kids are trying to make one of the biggest decisions of their lives and millionaire coaches deceive them so they can make more millions. Beliein moves on with no consequences and leaves behind lots of kids - many of whom now might have to transfer. At least Beilein didn't pull a Calvin Sampson and leave his old school with sanctions. I think Sampson should either of had to stay at OU and work through the problems or be suspended a year before being able to coach IU. Someone in the media really needs to take these coaches to task for many of the things they kill the players about.

is officially back where we belong.
Although this loss hurts it is only the begining. We will be back and we will be better.
Jeff Green could shot 0 for 1,000 next year and I would never have a bad word to say about him.
Dajuan will get stronger this summer and will be able to finish his drives to the basket.
Let's reward JTIII and move forward.
Thanks for the most fun basketball season of my life!

GREAT JOB HOYA FANS!!!!!!!!!! Just got back from the game. We were by far louder than Carolina fans. I saw fans from 7 to 70 all standing and yelling throughout.
The WE ARE GEORGETOWN chant lead by JTIII was unbelievable

I agree that the color issue is a big factor in how people perceive the number of a team's fans their are. Hoya fans wear gray, dark blue, those teal jerseys etc.... Every UNC fan wears light blue. I think there were more UNC fans but it was closer than people might think.

If the game is on TV in your area I don't think you can watch it on the CBS website.
