Looking at this map (the complete one) - www.bigeast.org/sports/m-baskbl/sched/bige-m-baskbl-sched-month-03.htmlIt looks like our game is only “constant” in part of Tenn and the very extended DC area and I assume it’s likely CBS will switch from us to another game if we are blowing them out or if even another game is strong in their opinion. But I don't want to pay for online access unless I have to. Three key questions if anyone has info - 1. Is there any way to test whether CBS's online coverage works on your computer ahead of time? If it doesn't, I need to know so I can research sports bars in Florida ahead of time and be at one by game time, and skip local TV and online altogether. 2. If I find that CBS that works on my computer, is it possible to start watching on TV then if they switch - to go over to the computer and be watching the game within minutes. I.e. is the payment/sign-in process quick, and does game access ever fill up? 3. What is the cost and can you pay only per game? I’m not going to get screwed by CBS and want to be fully ready to rock. Hoya Saxa

register two accounts with two different zip codes. if they switch the game, you will not be able to watch online from a zipcode that originally was set as a georgetown game. i hope that makes sense. i ran into that problem last year and having the two accounts was critical. i am doing the same this year.

Thanks Dan - I just signed up. So does that mean I get in for free from here on out? Also - do the games ever fill up. I guess I could log in at the start of the game, so I'm in and then when CBS switches, I can go online.

This CBS Sportsline thing is awesome. Last year I sat on my coach with a laptop and watched the three out of area games, zipping around with the mouse to open and close game windows, while my local game played on the TV. Only "watch out" is that the computer is a minute or two behind the TV, and they show the game scores on the TV - so during Florida-GU I would look at the game on the TV and see a GU game score that hadn't shown up on the computer yet.
The quality on my laptop was pretty good, and the sound was good. I was getting the internet off a wireless connection in my home and it still worked.
This year my plan is to use my Verizon wireless card and watch the tournament from an airport lounge. I have no idea if this is going to work - if the connection will be strong enough.
And then after the game is over they put a full length version on that you can watch again, and fast forward around. Not quite Tivo, but not bad either.

I tested it out, and the quality - at least for the highlights on there - is ok but not great on my computer. The frame freezes for a few seconds at times and the audio clips in and out. I wouldn't want to watch a whole game like that, but if CBS switches, I'll be psyched to get what I can. I used a Texas zip code per the advice above.

From NCAA MMOD: "Since you are a VIP member, you get access to the live games faster. Follow your progress on the Waiting Room Meter. 22,946 people in the VIP line YOU ARE HERE No. 14,655" What's the point in VIP passes if your gonna give out like 30000 of em??? Does anyone know any subscription on-demand websites? I have credit card in hand...

The longest I had to wait was 2-3 minutes.

Seems like a little longer this year, but I'm not too worried about it yet: #16,280 out of 40K in the VIP line (though I would be 38,265 in the regular line).

I'm not moving at all. People are getting admitted, but my number isn't going down.

I've been sitting on 16,018 for a while now in the VIP line, starting to be minorly concerned.
EDIT: Just after I wrote that, just dropped to 13,301, hopefully a sign of progress.
EDIT: And again to 9,903

I just got an error message trying to access the Maryland-Davidson game on MMOD - even with the VIP pass - its telling me that the game is blacked out due to local TV coverage. Is this going to happen when people in the DC area try to access the GTown game online?

Could be... Sign up with a different email address with a different zip code (outside the area), and that might help you out. (Unless they use geography based on IP address).

If the game is on TV in your area I don't think you can watch it on the CBS website.

Just jumped 10,000 spots or so in the last couple minutes...
EDIT: I'm in... and LORDY IS IT GLORIOUS!!! I got one going over my Foxfire here at work using my Buffalo zip and another over IE using zip code "90210." Two games at once, clarity is amazing, sound is great... god bless my firm jumping to a T1 line last month!!!
