I haven't been able to get to Washington for the first 2 games, but it has been nice to hear how great our student section has been. But when I saw this clip on youtube I realized just how awesome it is - to get this kind of energy and noise for a non-BE, non-ranked opponent is pretty incredible and is probably better than 99% of student sections on their best day. Great job students - time for alumni and fans to step up their game.

Ban Brasky Again!!! One month wasn't enough to get the anger out of him. I think Hifi must be agitating him again.

I just heard an interview with him on the premium site and he really sounds like a great kid. Comes off as respectful (calling the interviewer "sir" and sounds very intelligent). I seem to remember hearing things about his ability to qualify and possibly a bad attitude, but from the interview it sounded like he is exactly the kind of kid we want at our program. He said since coming to Hargrave he was working on time management skills in preparation for college, voluntary getting up at 6am to run, and had lost about 7 pounds.
Of all the recruits he seems to have been forgotten a little - anyone have any info on his game and if he'll be able to contribute right away. We could really use a "banger" next year.

There was a thread I can't find where some people thought we had some competition for Big Man U. Here's more support for us.
Years we had a NBA big man on our roster in recent history
72-73 - Wilson 73-74 - Wilson 74-75 - Wilson 75-76 - Wilson 76-77 - Shelton 77-78 - Shelton 78-79 - Shelton 79-80 - Shelton 81-82 - Ewing/Martin 82-83 - Ewing/Martin 83-84 - Ewing/Martin 84-85 - Ewing/Martin 85-86 86-87 - Gillery 87-88 - Gillery 88-89 - Zo/Mutombo 89-90 - Zo/Mutombo 90-91 - Zo/Mutombo 91-92 - Zo/Reid 92-93 - Harrington/Reid 93-94 - Harringon/Reid 94-95 - Harrington/Reid/White/JYD 95-96 - Harrington/White/JYD 96-97 - White 97-98 - White/Ruben 98-99 - Ruben 99-00 - Ruben 00-01 - Ruben/ Sweets 01-02 -Sweets 02-03 - Sweets 03-04 - 04-05 - Hibbert/Green 05-06 - Hibbert/Green 06-07 - Hibbert/green
These edits are making this list look better and better - keep them coming

Both are scheduled for the same day Nov. 10.
Football starts at 12:30 Basketball at 12:00
I really think the athletic dept. should try to make a time change - since it is probably very hard to do with Verizon - is there anyway to move the football game back. What is the latest that we could start a football game (2pm looks to be the latest home start this season).
If you move the Football game to 3 -- hoyablue can try to promote a double header deal so everyone wins.
The football team deserves the support - especially the seniors.

Since JTIII started as coach there have been a number of new great traditions:
1. WAG shirts 2. Jeff Green's Mom 3. Roy Roy Roy (rocky theme) 4. Using the term JTIII 5. Nodak songs 6. Rich Chvotkin drinking game
and probably others I can't think of. When I was in school I can't remember anything like this. I think these traditions have been a significant part of why winning has been so fun and why the most recent sweet 16 felt a lot different than the 2001 sweet sixteen.
These are the kind of thing that can't be forced they just kinda happen, but unless I'm wrong there hasn't been a new one in awhile - am I missing any new ones.

Let's not miss out on Terri Hatcher cause we put all our energy into chasing Eva Longoria.
Midnight Madness is one of the best ways for current students to give back to the program - and the outstanding job of HoyaBlue and many others have led (even if in small part) to us landing some great recruits. My concern is at this year's Madness everyone will be focused on Monroe and lose sight of the fact that there will be some outstanding recruits also in attendance that may not be Monroe but are still Big Time players. We also should not forget to show love to the players who have already signed on to be Georgetown students.
I'm sure hoyablue will be on top of this but just in case

I think having no Big East game under 10G and an average of 15G/game for the BE games would be good. Its hard to predict the Monday games - does anyone think we could sell out a Monday cuse game - if it was a saturday I think it would be very close. Here are my best guesses
Big East Attendance Prediction:
Uconn(Sat.) 17G ND (Sat) 17G Cuse (Mon) 17G Hall (Sat) 13G S. Fla (Tues) 9G Nova (Mon) 14G Cincy (Sat) 14G SJU (Wed) 10G Ville (Sat) 19G ____________________ 14,400/game

It seems like Ronny was very unpopular - not sure if people didn't give him a chance from the start because of race or if he did a bad job connecting with the BSU community. Many people on their board claim his was arrogant and out of touch with their fan base. One thing I have noticed is that many are implying that the racist notes were planted by the basketball staff which I really think is outrageous since there is no facts to base that on. Articles like this give you a sense of how any idiot can get something printed in a newspaper. www.wabashplaindealer.com/articles/2007/07/12/sports/sports2.txt"Recently, Thompson appeared to have been a victim of racism, due to several notes with insensitive words being slipped into his office. However, according to the police investigation, no signs of forced entry were found. Leaving in question who exactly had access to his office? Other than he that is."

Calipari hasn't done anything worse than Calhoun, Coach K and many other coaches do all the time - not sure what your problem is with him. GREAT game - my only wish was that it was in DC.

1. It's memorial day weekend 2. We have the best center in college basketball 3. We have the best shooter in college basketball 4. We have a small foward who is ready to explode next year 5. We have two ridiculous recruits coming in 6. We have the best coach in college basketball 7. We have a coaching staff that is outrecruiting everybody in the DC area 8. We are located in the best area for high school hoops in the country 9. We have a NY city guard who is as tough as he is clutch and was only a sophmore last year 10. We have a guy named Ewing who while not as good as his father is a pretty damn good player in his own right. 11. We have a player with all world potential that with one year of basketball under his belt should be able to thrive 12. We have a great defensive guard with size who will develop a better shot this summer 13. We are the Big East Champs 14. We just played in the final four 15. In a few short years we have developed a top notch student group that has made our 20,000 seat state of the art arena a great home court.
LIFE IS GOOD - MAKE SURE YOU STOP TO ENJOY IT

That's what I like to hear DCox.
Everybody is worrying who is going to takes Jeff's place - we don't need to have another player exactly like Jeff to win.

There have been many great centers in Georgetown History but whenever someone talks about them they only say Ewing, Mourning and Mutomobo.
Othella, Jahidi, Rueben and Wesley have all tried and failed to be that fourth name.
Will Hibbert reach that level?

Of course I want them to stay but I will put them in as high regard as any of the all time great four yr players

If Jeff and Roy announce they are entering the draft - we should give them what they deserve - a standing ovation for saving georgetown basketball. They owe us nothing - they have already given more to the school than most of us ever will.
We should also show the basketball world, especially future recruits that we support our players.
Jeff Green is the most important player in Georgetown history besides Ewing and nobody can convince me otherwise.
Thank you Jeff and Roy - Stand up and cheer.
