If Jeff and Roy announce they are entering the draft - we should give them what they deserve - a standing ovation for saving georgetown basketball. They owe us nothing - they have already given more to the school than most of us ever will.
We should also show the basketball world, especially future recruits that we support our players.
Jeff Green is the most important player in Georgetown history besides Ewing and nobody can convince me otherwise.
Thank you Jeff and Roy - Stand up and cheer.

Ah, but the ovation will be louder and longer--lasting ALL next year--if they return.
In fact the ovation will last their lifetimes if they come back and get a title.

the ovation will last forever whether they stay or go.
Of course I want them to stay but I will put them in as high regard as any of the all time great four yr players

Who among us could honestly turn down the guaranteed fortunes that these 2 young men have in front of them ? Either way it goes, these are 2 fine young men that have made me proud to be a Hoya fan !!!

They are guaranteed to be millionares either way. Stay and they still get drafted. Stay and get hurt they have the increased insurance amounts, leave now and get paid. They are getting paid either way and should be applauded either way.

I hope Jeff leaves and Roy stays to polish his game.
If they both go, I hope they follow the example of Juwan Howard, Shaq, Vince Carter and a few others. Come back and get that college degree. After the glory of basketball fades, that college diploma will still be shining bright.

Thank you, Jeff, for representing our school with so much class and performing on such a high level.
Stop by next year with Brandon, Ashanti, DO, and the rest of 'em!

I don't think we can say thanks to Jeff enough.
I'm going to try to count the ways:
1) For simply coming to Georgetown. Yes, maybe his high school dream school didn't show enough attention, but by the time Jeff signed with Georgetown, schools like Syracuse, Maryland and others were on him as well. He was coming into an uncertain coaching situation in a program that was down on its luck.
And he had outs. He didn't get his qualifying score until the summer. He could have asked out of his LOI when the coaching change happened. He didn't.
2) He bought into JTIII and the system. We'll never know the details here, but many times the best player on the team dictates attitude even if they aren't a vocal leader. Jeff was the best player, but was unselfish and coachable. If the Big Dog isn't complaining, the rest of the pack can't do so without looking like idiots.
3) He singlehandedly brought us back to respectability freshman year. Roy had some impact, but little. Ashanti was inconsistent (remember the Cook 10 point rule?). Jon was nowhere near the player he is today. Brandon was Brandon and DJ was so inconsistent that neither he nor Roy could win the starting role.
The coaching staff deserves a ton of credit, but on the player side, our resurgence freshman year is almost entirely due to Jeff being incredible as a frosh. If not for a late season swoon and one missed play versus UConn, we're dancing almost entirely on his back. The next season Roy became an impact player and Cook really took it to the next level while Jon improved, and so sometimes I think we forget that we were the Jeff Green show when he was a frosh.
4) No Big East Championship, No Final Four without Jeff. All the players contributed, but no one on our team could have had the game he had versus Notre Dame in the BE last year. Maybe this year someone like DaJuan will become this guy this year, but no one but Jeff could have done it last year.
Same with Vanderbilt. Who else takes that shot? Yes, Jon and others can make huge shots. But Jeff could create good shots.
5) Jeff improved year to year. There was a lot of talk during his "sophomore" slump, but the reality is, the guy worked his ass off to improve, if his level of improvement is any indication. His handle is better. He can score off the dribble. His defense is very good. His free throw shooting is vastly better.
6) He did it all with class.
Thanks, Jeff.
