From the looks of things, it seems like he practiced a few of those shots!

That's too funny! Pat is going to have to cut the reporters some slack. Just have one oversized chair for yourself, coach.

I am just ecstatic! Can't get enough of replaying the videos. A big hearty thank you to all the contributors, the recaps, analysis, etc.
Beyond the play of Mac and Akinjo, I am amazed by the poise, control, and vision of these the two.

Just happy for Marcus. I think it says a lot for the coaching he has received at GU, especially his last year.

Switch St Johns and Providence and seton hall and Butler Well, that's an improvement in the eyes of the pundits. I believe this team, in the words of the great Muhammed Ali, one of my heroes, will shock the college basketball world!

I am just glad we will finally have something substantive--wild predictions and speculations aside--to report on and talk about. Let the games begin!

Mom's/dad's and son's story are conflicting. Probably they should have all sat down together and get the story straight.

Glad to be in his top 10 and think he is a great prospect. One of my faves for ‘19 class. That said, I’ll admit that I am still somewhat pessimistic on Gtown actually landing guys who announce top ten’s, top 7’s, top 5’s, etc. We seem to do much better with the low-key guys who keep much of the details of their recruitment under wraps. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think any of the four in our ‘18 class announced much info social media before committing. No you are absolutely right. This kind of "exercise" is something I don't particularly care for. However, I can see how the recruits benefit; they have all these top colleges chasing them. It strokes their egos.

A step up is something we will take. Bring 'em along, but bring 'em along slowly and carefully. You have to know the horses you have in the stable.

LJ looks yoked. What I loathe most about the current NBA is that guys don't get enough looks. A team like the Knicks should be watching tape of every guy on every summer league and international squad and giving looks/shots to any and all guys that have even a small chance of making the roster. A guy like LJ could come off the bench right now for the lowly, depressing, gut-wrenching, soul-sucking Knicks. At least if they were doing everything they could to improve, I'd have a reason to watch outside of the one that I use which is that I'm both stubborn and stupid. Does he still have an agent in the US as an international player?

I like the fact that Derrickson seems to really believe in himself. I have come to respect his decision and his willingness to do whatever it takes to land somewhere in the NBA, fulfilling, what I am sure, was his and his family's dream. I am pretty sure he knows what he must do to make it at the next level.
From all indications, he really enjoyed his time at Georgetown, learning from Ewing and the coaching staff. Based on his own words, the coaching staff prepared him well. In one short year he made tremendous strides as a player becoming our go to guy in the clutches. He was our number one shooter. He improved tremendously as a rebounder, both defensively and offensively. The year before, he was mainly an outside shooter despite his size and strength. If you may recall, prior to coming to Georgetown, Marcus worked extremely hard on conditioning and strengthening his body to prepare to play at the College level. Marcus will be fine. And, I believe that his success will also spell success for us if he does make it. To that end, I wish him all the best.

I just hope that there wasn't some animus there and lingering after the social media dust storm that was kicked up over the comment made by Coach. I am still scratching my head, like everyone else, I suppose, why he didn't leave the door open to coming back. From what I heard his decision was an economic one, as in his family was in need. So even if he has to play in some G league or overseas that cash can go a long way for his family. If there is any truth to this I can use his decision better. I hear you, but I am thinking about what it could have meant for him if he had persevered for one more year. His trajectory as far as development was amazing. I do understand if it were economics, however.

This, from Kevin Willard...
“I think guys get a little bit too wrapped up if they get drafted or not,” Pirates coach Kevin Willard said Monday. “I think sometimes it can be better [if you don’t get drafted] because your agent can put you with a team that actually needs you. So I think that’s a good thing.”
Hopefully, this can offer some solace to our guy, Derrickson.
Can't believe Angel Delgado was not drafted.
On the other hand, very proud that fellow Bahamian, Ashton Ayton was selected first, in the first round.

You missed the most important one: 3 of the top 15 players in the entire league. And #8 does not apply to the Warriors this year and it didn't matter at all because of the aforementioned fact. People say this, but the way the Warriors play, it's definitely a chicken and egg situation. Durant is clearly a Top 5 player on any team in any system. Curry is a Top 5 player, but there's absolutely teammates and coaches who would have never helped him realize his potential. His worth ethic and team first attitude are a key reason why he's a top 5 player even though physically, he's nowhere near that. Klay and Dray are both amazing players, but both are highly flawed, and benefit, again, from the team concept. Neither can create off the dribble; on half the teams in the NBA, they'd be wildly underutilized -- Dray as a defender only and Klay would be told to stand in the corner. Numbers #1-5 of OPs post are entirely right. Players play hard, both ways, that aren't afraid to take shots, that share the ball. It all reinforces the other elements -- players included in the offense play hard on defense. When players are unselfish and team oriented, they can call out teammates like Draymond does without it festering. SF Hoya, thoughtful post. I really don't see where, talent wise, the Warriors are in a separate league by themselves. They do have two amazing shooters, but, as we have seen, some nights those shots are not falling. That's when I seed the real team concept kick in.

Wait a second! Is this young man taller than Pat or is Pat shrinking? If Pat's anything like my old body...I'd say its a combination of both!! Same here. LOL!
