Yeah, but cash works really well. Based squarely on what we all have seen.

Love the idea of him and Govan playing together! Hope he can play this year. As a matter of fact, the more I think about it, that would certainly shake things up a lot, both in terms of the line up and BE play.

I really hope that is not the starting 5... Understand where you headed with that, but you can appreciate, I am sure, the wisdom in what he is saying is probably Ewing's thinking. Let's bring the freshmen along. We do have experience and depth this year. Let them get their feet wet. We can do an assessment after the non-conference play.

Also shows the hunger and competitive spirit of Patrick Ewing. Warm, sincere, and a very human touch.

I think we on this board should get together a take a similar shoot. I believe GU would sanction that--and allow us to use the gym!

Are you claiming our guards weren’t embarrassingly awful as a group last season? I honestly don’t think “tragic” is a hyperbolic description of last season’s guard play. It was collectively disgraceful by any statistical measure. You don’t have to do much cherry picking to find gaping flaws with the group in my opinion. Def one of the 3-5 worst groups in all Power 6 conferences. We had two all-league bigs and were still almost historically bad. No one is arguing that point but let's stick to games where our guards actually got demolished as there were plenty of examples. Trying to make the Howard game as an example beca.use their high usage guard is looking good in Kenner is where I take issue. Cole actually had one of his worst games statistically against us which happened to be a couple weeks after he went off on Indiana for 27 and 8. Okay, SmokeyJ, but what are we discussing? "Collective" as in last year, or "collective" as in this year. We have gone out--I say we, I mean Ewing--and recruited two game changing, immediate impact guards. So, collectively speaking, we are collectively in a much better place than we were last year. And last year is water under the bridge. My point was that you are sapping all of the air of enthusiasm around the program when you start criticizing the current situation with analysis of the guards from last year and last year play. Hope I am coming through loud and clear. It's late on my side of the world. Love you, Brother! Have an enjoyable rest of the evening.

Let's go full throttle after Hart. If we can get a couple of consistent 3 point shooters, that would definitely be a game changer. Can he defend?

"cherry pick statistics"! Love that phrase. And you are absolutely right. Collectively, the board just needs to say, "Stop it!"

Still, I will be spared him setting screens beyond the 3 point line. Pat runs a pro-style offense. You're going to see a ton of the 5 setting screens at the three point line. People need to seriously realize it isn't 1984 anymore. I think people realize it's not the 80's anymore. But man mam o man I wish we could repeat the feat of the 80's.

On the other hand something tells me that a lot is riding on how well we do this year. That might just be the understatement of the year! I would love to see Ewing turn these kids loose even more so that people like Mac, Akinjo, Pickett, and Govan can really showcase their array of skills. We desperately need t use the talent we have to drum up excitement going into the next couple of years as far as recruiting is concerned. I agree that this year will be key for Pat's tenure with the Hoyas. A lot of the elite guys seem to be waiting until the spring to commit, so if we can have a good showing then Pat's recruiting persistence will pay off. Plus I selfishly hope we outperform expectations...it's been too long since we've had more ups then downs. I have a strong feeling we will outperform expectations. A lot has changed in the Big East and with us. Now we did lose Derrickson. Man I wish we had him for one more year!
