U have blair listed 2 times on main page dfw,for next years roster. Not trying to be a smart a&& just letting you know. Point taken. My proofreading skills aren't what they used to be. I will say that I have a ton of content scheduled to work on in the off-season. Much of the last year was spend finishing the John Carroll Awards site and this off-season is about the basketball history site, including the drive to publish a bio for every former player. When the last name is Ewing or Mourning, that's not a problem, but when's it's Hertel or Deriveaux or O'Lone, it gets a lot more more time consuming. The older season by season stats that didn't get loaded into the new format will get repurposed as well, and the features page will get some longer form articles as well. As to the roster, I have always thought Georgetown could do better with walk-ons and get one or two more walk-ons on the roster. You look at other schools where the walk-on program is more defined and they get solid contributors off the bench, and it provides goodwill among the students. Maybe a 6-5 football lineman that played basketball in high school or a 6-3 lacrosse midfielder. I'm been a big fan of the approach taken at UNC for years now--a full fledged junior varsity that gives two players a year a truly once in a lifetime opportunity. www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/acc/unc/article10869986.html

Only if we have a hard and fast rule - no silly, show off antics on the bench. No "3 goggles", choreographed celebrations, etc.

I'll say it here and take the heat if I am wrong - pencil Chris Sodom back in on the roster. No word of a transfer, sightings in Yates, the kind of "mistake" that a kid can learn from and redeem himself for, I see at least a decent chance that Pat welcomes him back into the fold. Which would be nice, cause we could use the C depth.

Turns out his youngest brother Louis was a standout on the 1952/4 and 1953/4 Hoya basketball teams. Louis later went on to St.Joseph Seminary in Yonkers and became a parish priest in the South Bronx. Father Lou worked hard to serve his poor congregants but also was a staunch defender of his brother who he always insisted was not mob connected.

Ultimately, I would leave this to Ewing who knows a lot more than we do about what happened (I have no idea aside from some rumors), but this seems unlikely. Sodom was a huge project, hasn't worked out with the team, and really showed very little promise other than being really tall. Unless there is a strong reason for taking him back that we don't know about, I think it's better to move on and recruit others. While he isn't as tall, I like Walker spelling Govan/Derrickson more than Sodom. He's more skilled and I think has a lot more to offer. I really think height is overrated in the modern game. Sure, you need someone who is let's say 6'8 or taller at center, but I would take a skilled 6'8 guy who can shoot threes and who has skills over a 7'2 guy with basically no skills at all other than a tall frame.

Louis must have had my great uncle for a professor at St. Joe's. He taught Homiletics.

Was for entirely different reasons, but yeah, Deke’s team would win 42 to 11 with him scoring 15 dunks and 15 blocks. Agree Sodom is raw, but a year of tutelage and training might make him less project and more Deke. One way or another, he would likely have left campus for some place that will play him if he had no shot at getting back into Pat’s good graces. Since he seems to still be on campus, there is at least a chance that he becomes a Hoya again.

So, he's still taking classes, and wasn't kicked out of school? Is there any inside information on counseling or anything he's doing to redeem himself to the coaching staff and if needed, the administration. Never knew what he did...seemed hushed pretty quickly, but appeared to be gross immaturity and a possible character flaw, embarassment to team culture...pure speculation...I thought he was GONE!!! Is he still around and in school?

Tre Campbell was around first semester and finished school even though he was no longer on the team. The Sodom sightings don’t mean anything.

Different circumstances. Thanks for the perspective. You're probably right. I would count it overall as a positive.

I wonder if malinowski will be a starter. I hope that pickett can improve his dribbling ability to help mac. MD is a good at it as well so it should open up for Greg. The shooting of greg would give blair a run for his money and we will badly need it come BE time ..

All of below: "gross immaturity and a possible character flaw, embarassment to team culture." If he's still around and is sincere, perhaps he can redeem himself by significantly showing that he wants to be a hoya, is deeply apologetic and works his butt off in classes, in conditioning and every other way to show that he has grown and matured.

Kids make mistakes. I’m all for second chances. In this case it wasn’t too egregious in my view.
