Happy Birthday, Omer. And you made a very smart choice.

Wait a second! Is this young man taller than Pat or is Pat shrinking?

Draft high and develop your players. It's an NBA model not college. The one thing they have done well is find pieces that fit together. Green was a home run for them and makes all the other pieces work. Hoyas need to find their type of players and develop them while preparing for the inevitable early entry. They should be fully prepared for a Pickett departure after this season. Not saying it will happen, but have a plan in place. JTIII got caught flat footed swinging for the fences and missing and having guys head a year early. Totally agree. We'll add that to the list as #11. I think, though, that has been the mindset of Ewing since becoming coach. But, again, I think you are absolutely right. We need more players who can come in contribute right away. After last year, I think we would have to agree Ewing seems to be a coach who can develop players.

“Every player must be a valuable player on offense.” Recently, I feel like we’ve had no more than three offensive threats at any given time. Guys that would take and make an open shot. Agree. We have been deficient in terms of having real depth. When Derrickson was out we just seemed to drift.

1. Nova 2. Georgetown 3. Xavier 4. Marquette 5. Butler 6. Providence 7. Creighton 8. St. Johns 9. Seton Hall 10. Depaul Might even be able to take down the mighty Villanova. I didn't want to put too much pressure on our young uns this soon. Let's be realistic here. You have Georgetown leapfrogging five teams against which it was a combined 1-9 last year. Yes. Where's the problem? LO..

Are we surprised that he didn't mention us? I thought we were one of the first to offer. Not really...the young man had been bombarded with offers. He could barely remember most of them. Also he is been in the states for just over a year. Outside of Arizona because of Ayton, not sure what he knows about all the college programs coming at him. I don't hold these interviews especially for a newbie to the process as gospel for Jones. Thanks! Do you have a phone contact? Maybe as a fellow Bahamian, I can talk some sense into him.

#1. Play together as a team! #2. Have fun playing together on and off the court #3. Move the ball, look to pass first, find the open man #4. Every player must be a valuable player on offense and defense #5. Don't be afraid to shoot the ball, even when the shots are not falling #6. Understand that the goal is to demoralize and annihilate your opponent #7. Understand that you cannot fall asleep at any point when you are at war #8. Understand that every game is a battle and the battle is for 48 minutes #9. Play with attitude #10. Be prepared to give your team a lift, even if you have to put the team on your back and carry it

I am impressed with the high caliber of schools chasing this kid. Much respect to him and his talent. Now, young man, come join the Hoya resurgence!

What I have noticed is that it is tough being a team mate of Lebron. Not that he hogs the ball, but he does not allow his team mates to grow and thrive. You can't just dish to another player with 3-5 seconds with so little time to create or react.
If I were Green, I would want to get out from under the James' looming shadow. Not a fit for our Boy, Green.

I would say that we have a very good chance here. I would like to see how he is doing academically.

I am slowly waking up to the fact that Big Pat has a far better selling point than any other coach in college basketball. "I have been there." And this is both in terms of having been a basketball player and a NBA coach. I may be wrong, but who out there can look a recruit in the eye and tell them that? It will work with some kids and not as much with others. Kids like Stewart think they're going pro no matter what, so not sure it helps here much tbh. It probably works more on kids like Kai Jones or Naheem Mcleod since they are high upside developing prospects who need more time to reach their potential. Obviously it worked with a high level kid like Yurtsevern as well. I'm not too worried about Stewart tbh. The staff has shown a good eye for talent so we'll end up with talented guys regardless. Truthfully, I see it having an impact even if the kid is only planning on staying one year. If it were me, I would be thinking even one year of tutelage under Ewing would be beneficial.

that's what i say. We'll make his final cut. If he had to commit today, I'd lean more towards ND than Duke. However i still feel we have a real chance here as well. Playing in the NBA, with all that comes with it, I am sure, is a huge incentive.
