Since AJ Hoggard committed to Michigan State over Marquette they seem to be picking up momentum on Davis. I get that Markus Howard is what Wojo is pitching to guard recruits. But I’m surprised there hasn’t been more fallout from the Hauser twins packing up and transferring. To me, having those two transfer when they were an overall top 5 team is hugely telling, and couldn’t have been all about not wanting to play with Howard. Not to mention the Ellenson brothers issues.

Why..."from an NCAA and coaching standpoint...coaching malpractice"...if he's qualified and eligible to enroll and play 2nd semester, I don't see why that would be a problem, technically...surely he would have to fit/be accepted by the team and coaches and get caught up with schemes, practices, etc...but otherwise I don't see why this couldn't be done...he's definitely talented enough to help this team...it would even work if he chose to sit out (but practice with the team) and be ready to go next year... I guess my question would be: if someone could easily leave high school and then play second semester, why doesn’t this happen more often? Hollis Thompson did this, but didn’t play I think.

Does anyone know how many games this season will be on CBS Sports? I see the tournament this weekend is on there, and I’m debating whether I should add this to my cable package for the season

The way this thread is going, I'm half expecting someone to criticize Dajuan Summers for not smiling enough

Now we have a mystery... Who is watching Moses if Pat is in Hampton and Kirby Wallace are in Dallas? Orr?

"According to ESPN, Amaker recruited the #2 recruiting class in the nation for the class of 2000 while at Seton Hall" And we all know how that turned out...that team literallly imploded in the visitor lockeroom at the Verizon Center after we beat the tar out of them. They never recovered. Teammates fighting. Free fell out of the top ten. Can't remember if it was the home or away game, but Demetrius Hunter had the nastiest dunk ever over Eddie Griffin. Just drove the lane and jumped over him. Probably the best highlight from my time as a student . And here it is (away game):

For some perspective: in the last week, this thread has had 56+ pages of comments, yet in reality, the only new bit of information we have in the last week for certain is Waters' requesting release from his commitment (big news, of course). Even the Mourning rumor is unconfirmed, not to mention other rumors. I am hoping we will hear something from the administration in some sense soon. Otherwise, there's just not much "new" here. Yeah, this thread kind of reminds me of the scene in Swingers where Jon Favreau keeps leaving messages on the girl's answering machine. I expect to come back here in a couple days at a later stage of grief and everyone is saying "I love you man, I didn't mean all those nasty things I said about you..."

It seems like if there are "rumors" of other players leaving and still no rumors regarding JTIII, that he's here to stay. And with each passing hour, it seems less and less likely that he leaves. I mean, now is the time that firings, resignations happen, right?
When did Esherick go?

Regarding Mourning..I don't have any of the stats in front of me, and don't really understand the advanced stuff that is out these days. But, from the eye test, in limited moments, Trey actually has impressed me with his passing ...something none of our other bigs can do. He also seems to have a decent shot. Now..how much PT he deserves, I do not have a strong opinion, other than to say probably a bit more than he has had..which is virtually nothing this year. I think defense was his biggest liability

Some awesome defense being played in this picture.

Thank Peak and Pryor for this. They flat out get to the rim. The fact that our bigs are excellent shooters too definitely helps. Free throws could be the difference maker come big east play. side note: does grosse want us to start calling them the P+P Buckets Factory? I like it but it doesn't roll off the tongue very well. Better than a "O.P.P." reference I guess

Not trying to be naysayer, but what's a good NBA comp for LJ? To me I'm little suspicious that his handles and passing aren't good enough for being an NBA pg, but he's a little small for SG and he wouldn't be able to drive as easily in the NBA.
There might be plenty of comps, it's just that we haven't really had a player like him.

I think this is a great thing. Before we used to be worried that the BE wouldn't provide enough quality wins. Now we have the opposite problem.
We're either good or we're not, but at least the BE gives us opportunity to turn it around.

I finally got to watch the LaSalle game this morning and I kept thinking that the team could really use Copeland (and White for that matter). Ugg. Not at all liking where this season is headed. Not at all trying to be snarky, but I had the opposite reaction. It took me a while to realize that he hadn't played. I just think that Akoy and Marcus provide more of what we need right now; some semblance of a post game, better defense and rebounding. And my guess is that JTIII feels that way as well, and Isaac saw the writing on the wall.

I agree it's not a good look, but it was becoming pretty evident that both Akoy and Marcus were ahead of him on the depth chart (and rightfully so). I wish he would stay, but my guess is that he sees his window closing here, and he wants another chance to highlight his skills for the league.
Best of luck to him. Always felt like his best game was the BET loss to Xavier his freshman year where he was drillIng mid range jumpers all over the place

yeesh... I know it's a highlight reel, but damn. He looks like he's always in attack mode, even in the half court.

There was a kid dressed in blue behind the bench yesterday that looked like Zion. Haven't seen it reported he was there anywhere so I'll assume it wasn't him but uncanny resemblance... Tre RT'd a mixtape video of him yesterday, which struck me as random, so maybe he was on campus. It's a pretty sick mixtape tho.

As a Wizards fan, I can't disagree with you as far as Otto going somewhere else to better his career but I love Otto and begrudgingly, I love the Wizards so I love Otto being a Wizard. John Wall is a good player but he is not a good defender. As long as Ernie Grundfeld is the GM of the Wizards, the Wizards will not be successful. Hey! You gotta give Ernie some time to put things in place. He's only been on the job for how many years? Their bench seems especially doo doo. A collection of "hmmm.... really?"
