Just sitting down having a BBQ dinner with my family when I was overcome with a wave of thankfulness for LJ's game yesterday. He was clearly have a brutal time of it converting baskets and it wasn't pretty, but at the end of the day, he took the game into his own hands and made managed to make lemonade out of lemons. He played with a purpose and a toughness that was reminiscent of jabril and without that, we lose that game. He deserves props.

I didn't pay much attention to his defense, but I loved his aggressiveness on offense. Of the whole team, really. Ball wasn't always dropping, but people were moving, cutting and playing aggressively on offense.

He really stepped up at the end. That three was huge, and he converted FTs well. Great to see him come through in the clutch in front of what looked to be 100+ supporters.

I looked at a tape of the game tonight and realized that when DSR sat in the second half LJ put some very tough defense on #1 of UNCC.

For sure- great effort from LJ last night. He was much more active than in many previous games. He could have pouted about not starting, but he went to work instead. Night and day from even the first half of the UNCC game.

Just sayin....LJ has brought his lunch pail and hard hat to work the last two games. Agreed, great game for him. That's how he needs to play on a nightly basis if this team's going to do some things. Also like him coming off the bench so he doesn't derail himself with early foul trouble.

Just sayin....LJ has brought his lunch pail and hard hat to work the last two games. He just needs to learn to stop putting his hands and his body on his man on defense. We need him on the court

I like the move that JTIII did last night. LJ chucked a couple of shots last night but I thought he played under control a lot more than he did all season.

He did a better job converting at the rim.

I think the coaching staff talked to LJ about his reckless driving. He has been driving into 3-4 players at a time this season and turning the ball over or not finishing. He was typically a black hole on the fast break.
I saw him pull back on 2-3 occasions in the Depaul game and pass the ball to someone else when the drive wasnt there. He did drive once into 3 players and turned the ball over, but less than normal. Hopefully his decision making will continue to improve without hurting his overall offensive aggressiveness.

Definitely playing well coming off the bench
Kaleb wasn't too bad either, carving out a nice role

Possibly the best 2/3 game stretch for LJ as a Hoya.

Tip of the cap to LJ for taking this role and running with it. I obviously don't know how he feels about it but, as a fan, I don't look at it like a demotion at all. There are a lot of starting fives we could run out there but there aren't a lot of guys (especially since White is hurt) that could come off of the bench and impact the game in the ways that LJ can. He can facilitate the offense, drive the ball and, in the past couple at least, dish out some assists. When we stagnate, in comes LJ. And he's still seeing starter minutes. I think it's a better fit than what we were running out. Not because LJ isn't good enough to start but because his versatility and ability to create helps the "bench" players perform better.
On this team, realistically, I'd only be surprised if DSR and Isaac weren't in the starting lineup. Outside of those two, I wouldn't raise an eyebrow about the other 3. We have at least 8 "starters" with White healthy. With Kaleb making a case for 9 the more he plays. It's a rare problem to have for a Georgetown fan in recent years.

Possibly the best 2/3 game stretch for LJ as a Hoya. Absolutely agree. If not numbers-wise (I haven't checked), certainly in his decision making. He's still putting up a circus shot here and there but they're circus shots to the observer. Not to him. He's not taking some of the ridiculous ones he was before and he's making some nice passes and working his tail off on D. He looks even leaner now than at the start of the season and he came in in markedly better shape than he was in at the end of the year last year (not that he was ever in poor shape). He's obviously putting in the work and it's not of the variety that only makes him look good. He's making his team better with his play in a year in which it would be easy to understand why he'd be playing for himself more. Love it. Nice work LJ. Keep doing what you're doing.

Still hasn't developed a jump shot. Kinda a one trick pony so far.
