I am sooo happy someone started this thread. When I saw this article I threw up in my mouth a little. I'm gonna go ahead and Edited some people off here, but what was the WaPo writer thinking interviewing exclusively freshman girls for this article? I mean, is the writer nuts? The people interviewed showed almost 0 interest in Hoyas basketball, and for someone to say, "I wasn't expecting us to win by any means," is not only borderline treasonous, but it is also about the most ignorant statement I have heard regarding Hoyas basketball this year (and that is saying a lot, considering some of the outrageous statements that sometimes show up on this board). This girl should go crawl into her dorm room hole and never show her face again. That, or transfer to Smith, where she won't have to deal with the intricacies of men's basketball. Was the writer having a hard time finding fans in the midst of a giant fan celebration? Ummm...no. I'm sure there were plenty of seniors (girls and boys) out on the streets who would have given a great interview replete with an appreciation of how far this program has come since their 13-15 freshman year. The writer sucks, and freshman girls will take a long time to live this one down.

I don't see the need to cancel classes. I see the need for Georgetown students to get their priorities straight and show up to the team's departure anyway. HOYA FREAKIN' SAXA!

Kornheiser just asked the money question...is III considering other jobs? III dodges question, as he should have.

I don't know if this is a repeat thread; if so, sorry.
After seeing it in Winston-Salem, I didn't notice the UNC mascot this weekend. I didn't think much of it until today, when I saw a scroll on the news reporting that the student who had played the mascot, Jason Ray, had died after being hit by a car before the Friday game. A real tragedy that I thought merited bringing up on the board.

I may be way off base here, but didn't he pick us to go to the Final 4 in the first place, and then he kept on picking against us in individual games? If this is the case, maybe we shouldn't be so afraid of his original pick. Then again, I'm only 30% sure that I'm correct in my initial assertion...just throwing this out there.
Yep, I'm wrong. Mea culpa.

Beware the 1-posters! Before anyone answers this question, gooner78 should be required to answer me these questions 3: 1. What is your age? 2. What is your favorite color? 3. Rank the following in terms your admiration of each figure: Troy Smith, Chris Leak, hifigator, Jim Boeheim, John Feinstein

Guys, it's time. Time to pay the man. Maybe not the market rate but certainly more than now. And time to build the darn on-campus facility. He has said that's what it will take to keep him. So build the building already- it's time. It's time. I've been in favor of an on-campus stadium for a while, but boy, if we can lock down JTIII for a long time, and success follows for a long time, then the fan base will swell a lot. If we have a 6,000 seat on-campus arena, Georgetown games are going to be awful hard to get tickets to. Despite all the pains of Phonebooth travel, I'd sooner deal with getting to a downtown arena than not have tickets at all.

Are you an OSU fan now that we've knocked your other two "favorite" teams out of the tourney? calm down, little camper, just making a little joke. no need to get defensive. actually if you noticed in the thread i started this morning i was rooting very hard for you on sunday and will continue to do so throughout the tourney. If I recall correctly, bupride was the most reasonable of the Vandy guys after the phantom travel. I count him as a friend of the Hoyas. As long as he doesn't become hifi-2, I've got no problem. Thanks for rooting for the Hoyas, bupride.

Do we think that Tyler went to Glamor Shots by Deb for these? Epic.
About the guy himself, though, I see no reason to take shots at Hans-bra (the announcer at the Meadowlands, who styles himself after Raftery, really enjoyed pronouncing the name that way). He played hard and executed really well. As much as I hated him during the game, it's not his fault that those d-bag refs gave him a call every time he missed a shot. He almost buried the Hoyas...on the floor and at the line...and his performance was deserving of respect. Besides, he helped us out in that once he FINALLY missed those FTs in OT, we knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that UNC was sunk.
Speaking of the stadium announcer...has anyone ever heard somebody so excited about a "TIMEOUT ON THE FLOOOOOORRRR!!!!"?

If anyone has a DVD of the game please send me a PM -- I'm happy to cover any burning/shipping costs I put it in another thread as well, but count me in for a DVD copy please! What a great day, yes! I've been spontaneously breaking out in wide-toothed grins all day...sooooo great!

What was up with that T in the first half? I heard it also had to do with the fact that our players who were on the bench were standing, which is apparently a little-enforced rule. I've never really seen it enforced - a game wouldn't be a Hoya game without Sead standing up and cheering on the other guys. Good point about Saed, which reminds me of a story related to me by another alum. He was at Tombs after we won a late year game (I think UConn), and apparently Saed, PEJr, and Izzo showed up to floods of high-fives from the bar crowd. He said that Saed (haha...it's a homophone!) was just having a great time...high-fiving, cheers-ing, etc., and loving hanging out with the fans. It's clear that he really enjoys being on the team, and he knows that he's contributing to a special squad. In addition...he's probably aware of the perfect record the HOYAS have in games that he's played! Here's some inside info: Shaw started on JTIII BEFORE THE GAME. He asked him what Roy was wearing on his arm (a neoprene sleeve) and Shaw told him he couldn't wear it unless he was injured or it was a violation. So of course JTIII said "He's injured." What a jerk. Props to JTIII for the quick thinking here. One can only imagine how much it must have frustrated Shaw that his power trip was foiled by III's cleverness.

both just picked us to beat UCLA in the finals on college gameday. expected from these too who have been saying great things about us recently but still nice to hear. one game at a time though, can't wait to watch hibbs take on oden. go hoyas! Saw that. Very nice bits of analysis. It seems that Majerus is over his "retire the refs' number" slip after the Vandy game. Referring to Wallace's 180 shooting, he says that Wallace is in a "subset of 1 in North America." Also, he just said the it is beyond him that Jeff Green isn't on the All-America team. AHHHHHHHHH!!! FINAL 4 BABY!!! WOOOO WOOOOOOO!!!!
