vitale has us at #4 next year assuming both green and hibbert come back 1. NC ( shocker!! ) 2. kansas 3. ucla 4. g'town Assuming Paulus comes back, I can't comprehend how he could have underrated Duke by so much. I have them at 1 or 2 preseason, maybe even higher than that by the time the season ends! Again, if Paulus makes the jump, all bets are off.

Just saw this for the first time...I don't know if it's been posted yet...sorry if it has. Pretty awesome; after a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, a "USA" cheer breaks out, followed by a raucous "Hoya Saxa" chant. Awesome! tinyurl.com/23hlnz

That...was...awesome. Does the admissions office offer guaranteed early admission to 10 year olds...because if they don't, now is a good time to start. Also, let this be the start of the official petition to get this kid performing at halftime of every game next season.

I think this article was in a previous thread from a few days ago, but it's good enough that it merits still being in the discussion. And also, I wanted to use my first tinyurl (woo woo), so here's the link for those who haven't seen it yet: tinyurl.com/2ygl39

Rivers' development was stunted quite a bit when he rolled his ankle early in the season. Though it wouldn't have helped his shot (only a billion hours in the gym this summer can do that), continued PT early could have helped our ball handling and defense during the late-fall....when we had problems with both.

I agree...those two threads belonged on this board. We certainly don't want total relaxation, but topics that have complete relevance to GU basketball (as these did) should stay...IMHO.

... a pair of hot cheerleaders flirting with me and BadgerHoya in the Hotel Penn lobby, but they were unfortunately Syracuse cheerleadersAre you sure that they were Syracuse cheerleaders? I'll venture a guess that by "hot" he means they scorching case of the clap that they each had....because he's certainly not describing the "cold" sores that they no doubt were sporting.

Indeed. By the way, isn't it funny that you can write "assclown" but not " Editeded" on this board? Can we change that policy this summer (though I'm in favor of keeping "assclown")?

Here’s a fact for Jeff Green to think about. Since 1972 there have been 100 members of the Georgetown program who have stayed in school four years — and 98 of them have received their degrees. I really like seeing this part in print...it's the anti-NYTimes, and it's considerably more representative of our program than that hatchet piece the other day. It's great to see the predictions rolling in...just a reminder that Saturday's loss is already part of last season. We have so much to look forward to in the coming season, and one of the best things as far as I can see it is that last season's team has already shown that this program doesn't buckle under the pressure of expectations. With JTIII at the helm, I expect this team to keep a level-head and dominate start to finish (at the Alamo, of course). Funniest part of the article, by the way, is that the picture of JTIII talking to "Jeff Green" is actually JTIII talking to freshman (about to be sophomore!) DaJuan Summers. Oops. ***!!!!!

Definitely enjoyed the Hoya clips (aside from the one where Roy getting stuffed by Skuchas of Vandy), although I'm quite disappointed there was no shot of Pat Jr.'s reverse dunk off of Roy's miss from the BC game. Hahha...Skuchas is terrible...I laughed when I saw that one. Also...that was a pass from Roy, not a miss.

i was annoyed they showed the beginning of oden's big dunk that he missed (blocking foul called on jeff) I caught that too...though seeing a giant flying across the screen at a 45 degree angle does make for good TV, game-changing bad-call or not.

I don't know why this makes me angry, but out of the the three nominated plays (OSU, VCU, HOYAS), 2 were game winners. The one that wasn't a game winner...the OSU shot against Xavier....won the $100,000 prize. Not only was that not as big of a shot as Green's or the VCU shot, but it was only the 2nd biggest 3 to send a game to overtime of the tournament. No one out there can say that Wallace's 3 against UNC wasn't bigger. Oh well...I guess it's good in the end, because OSU really could use that money more than GTown or VCU.

First, what he doesn't mention is that despite all of the points he brings up, Thompson does a great job announcing his son's games. That said, other than his mixing up the sons, I agree with Simmons' argument. It really is amazing that JT Jr. is able to announce these games...I don't think many people on this board could contain their Hoyas-zeal for an entire game, and that Thompson can do that with his son coaching is unbelievable.

next years class will not be so stacked. if you both stay, there would be a good chance we are headed to the final four again. so would you rather have 1 more year of glory and hero worship or go where you will be less visible and worshipped? go get a $10mm injury insurance policy and lets lace them up. Don't normally agree with you Pope, but you hit it on the head. These policies really tip the scales in favor of staying. Any insurance agents out there who can give our two superstars a call?

I am fascinated how all of you know these guys by name. Maybe when I was living in DC and going to games I knew a handful (how can you not know Ted Valentine with all the mugging for the camera he does). When does the offshoot of this board get built with referee bios and handy stalking information after games involving bad calls? Hey that's a good idea. I think maybe putting up a handy "Referee Reference" (RefRef) guide somewhere on the board could really help add atmosphere at the Phonebooth. Perhaps those most qualified (apparently Jack) could put this thread up on the HB Suggestions Board, where it is likely to stay at/near the top for the whole season.
