As the Final 4 wound down on Saturday night, I was surprised to find that no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't be angry. I was disappointed, yes, but I wasn't angry. More than anything, this unexpected reaction showed me how incredible this season was. From the first tip against Hartford to the final Wallace 3, the season was a great ride. The lows were low...losing to Duke and buckling against Syracuse...but the highs were incredible and came often: the 100th anniversary crushing of Marquette, revenge against 'Nova (including the 3/4 court shot by Sapp!), coming up big when it counted most against Pitt to control our own destiny in the Big East (and shove it in the face of the organ donation guy), clinching the regular season title against UCONN. Of course, all of this was before the last month...which, for someone who used to think Gerald Riley was the best #32 this program had seen, was one of the best months I have ever seen. The pride I felt in winning the BET in dominant fashion was unparalleled until watching Dudley get crushed in person. Yes, that was great, but I don't have the words to describe the feeling of seeing Jeff's shot or Wallace's immaculate 3 in person at the Meadowlands. As a fan, I have never experienced a season like this, and the only thing better than watching the season past with all my fellow Hoyas is knowing that Midnight Madness is mere months away.
Thanks Hoyas.

Dear Attorney General,
Please consider adding to "The List" the following people:
Claire Cooper John Kaszuba (you may have to explain to him what "The List" is several times, as his English comprehension is middling, at best) Tim Wickham-Crowley (whom SF called out perfectly for his hyphenated, girly-man last name) Twister Murchison (who once again proves the worthlessness of GUSA)
Please consider for immediate execution the following:
Pete Thamel (for the offenses of being a life-ruining reporter EDITED and being a SUcks grad)

People...write these complaints in emails to Thamel. I just wrote a long letter, but I failed to bring up plenty of these points. I know chances of his acknowledging our complaints are small, but we have to try to get this fixed in print.

It's an ugly incident, for sure, but what an unbelievable hatchet-job this is. The end of the article is absolutely outrageous. How about doing a little more work next time, Pete Thamel, and digging up the academic performance of the rest of the team...you know, the part that has 1 loss since the middle of January? And what about players past...like AKD, who is now at UVA Law. Uggh, the NYTimes just loves to keep pointing out how great a job they did uncovering the diploma mills last year. Neat!
ADDITION: How does a genius like this Kaszuba character, who apparently couldn't hack it on the football team (comment withheld), get off being embarrassed at the admission of an unqualified student? He's been banished to the Claire Cooper realm of Georgetown for me.

You're right, Arkansas would have killed WVU. Actually Arkansas beat WVU 71-64. Gratned it was at home, but still a head to head win. Do I think Arkansas should have been in? No. But Syracuse and not WVU should have made it instead. I could mention that WVU beat UCLA, but in reality my accuracy checker has proved faulty for the second time today. Good thing my disclaimer is permanent now, so I have nothing to be embarrassed about.

Not to be the lapdog of the selection committee (because there were some awful choices this year, and the BEAST got a total shaft), but the amount of high seeds not only in the Final 4 but also in the Regional semis (haha, semi) and finals makes their picks look pretty good. I still think Syracuse should have gotten in, but it's hard to argue that W. Virginia should have even with the NIT victory. You're right, Arkansas would have killed WVU.

But...way to go Mountaineers...totally smoked the ACC's final hope and broke the South Carolina stranglehold on the loser's tourney.

Here's a question, why is it that every female who filled out a bracket in my office pool referred to Ohio State as "Ohio" on her bracket? I don't understand. Do women see the name "Ohio State University" and immediately abbreviate it as "Ohio"? It's inexplicable. Whoa, DaJuan, you have a job? Isn't this some sort of NCAA rules violation? Shouldn't we alert the New York Times of this?

In the song they are talking about the state not the university. No one calls Ohio State, "Ohio". If you say Ohio University in Ohio everyone would know you meant the Bobcats and not the Buckeyes. The references people use are OSU, Ohio State, Buckeyes, and Bucks. Only people on message boards type tOSU which I think is to differentiate between the other OSUs. In every day conversation no would say TOSU, they would say OSU. It's your school, so I won't argue with you, but I will post the words to both songs and let everyone else decide for themselves what "Ohio" refers to. I will also note that Michigan State's fight song doesn't refer to "Michigan," Penn State's fight song doesn't refer to "Pennsylvania," Florida State's fight song doesn't refer to "Florida," Kansas State's fight song doesn't refer to "Kansas," Iowa State's fight song doesn't refer to "Iowa," Oklahoma State's fight song doesn't refer to "Oklahoma," Colorado State's fight song doesn't refer to "Colorado," Oregon State's fight song doesn't refer to "Oregon," Arizona State's fight song doesn't refer to "Arizona," Washington State's fight song doesn't refer to "Washington," and Mississippi State's fight song doesn't refer to "Mississippi." In fact, no other ______ State school names its state in its fight song unless it is immediately followed by the word "State." "Across the Field" Fight the team across the field Show them Ohio's here, Set the earth reverberating With a mighty cheer, Rah! Rah! Rah! Hit them hard and see how they fall, Never let that team get the ball, Hail, hail, the gang's all here, So let's win that old conference now. "Buckeye Battle Cry" In old Ohio there's a team That's known throughout the land Eleven warriors brave and bold, Whose fame will ever stand. And when the ball goes over, Our cheers will reach the sky, Ohio Field will hear again The Buckeye Battle Cry! Drive, Drive on down the field, Men of the scarlet and gray; Don't let them through that line, We've got to win this game today, COME ON OHIO! Smash through to victory, We cheer you as we go! Our honor defend we will fight to the end for OHIO! OK, I don't care if it means not responding to brutus' post, but GET THIS CRAP OFF OUR BOARD!!!

Ok, this could be clutter but i couldn't find it. For every Claire Cooper in the world, there's another like this girl. cstv.collegesports.com/postup/play.php?vid=45Btw, if i ever have a daughter i hope she's like Claire Cooper. No one's mentioned how the girls are both hot? What the hell is wrong with all of you? mmm...cute redhead I agree, Bando. Talent level was high, with added hotness points for sports fandom (doesn't mean either of these girls could watch sports with me, though..."Who's winning the match, pop?").

I believe you’ll find those are the same measurements as our Phone Booth back in Washington. For serious? Last I checked, the Redskins weren't relocating to the Verizon Center for rainy days.

OK, so after the Syracuse game, there was a lot of talk about how teams struggle shooting the basketball in football stadiums. The sightlines and the feel of the stadium are different from a cozy basketball arena. We certainly looked like hot garbage at the Carrier Dome, which certainly had a lot to do with the SUcks D and the 1 day of rest after PITT, but part of it could have been that the team was dome-jobbed ( , couldn't resist). Do we think that the Georgia Dome will affect the HOYAS or any other team? Are the teams practicing in the cavernous dome this week...meaning we should expect improvement from last time? Any thoughts?
