gmu...thanks for the good luck and for saying all the right things...it's clear you've been to this board before! I think it would be great for GU to play GMU, not just for the obvious potential of getting a good local rivalry going, but also to shove it in BUM's face that we don't play local schools (although playing Howard didn't convince BUM of anything).

I like the animation of the oaf-fense at the bottom. As good an explanation of the Carril/JTIII style as I've seen.

Georgia, Texas, or Italy? Should've put your disclaimer on that one -- there is no Rome, Texas. Although we do have an Italy. I apologize for translating the name of "Roma, Texas" into English without explaining myself. Your suggestion, however, is a good one, and I will be incorporating it into my future posts.

When I read this thread title I got kind of excited when because I thought the bum would be giving his thoughts on Rome--the city or the empire. Alas, we were not that lucky. Georgia, Texas, or Italy?

The McDonald’s All-Americans are on the way (1 this season, 2 next season). But in the meantime, I’ll take kids like JW any day!! I have it this way: Until another kid like the Rainmaker shows up, I'll take McD's All-Americans any day.

Last time we saw a good zone, we had 1 day to prepare for it after a hugely draining game for control of the BE. This time JTIII and the gang have a week...I expect big things.

i blame myself for vandy game being so close. i missed much of the first half due to a bad internet connection, when i found a bar to go to (i was not at home so i didnt know where to go) i realized i wasnt yet wearing my WAG shirt. i put it on, we went on a run, rest is history. I accidently wore a gold shirt and black pants to the Vandy game and was all set to take the blame for the loss if it happened. How does one randomly put on a gold shirt and black pants? You have some explaining to do, sir.

Listen up, folks...the HOYAS basketball team believes in superstitions, and so should we. You ask for evidence of this bold assertion? Have at it, hawse... -On PTI JTIII admitted to only using a blue marker to draw up plays (any other color and the manager is no longer the manager). -Luke Winn pointed out the other day that the HOYAS changed their shoes to old, more successful versions at halftime of the Vandy game.
...so if you haven't taken a shower in 3 weeks, keep up the filthy work. If you haven't washed your WAG shirt since before the BET (as in BubbRubb's case (I'm calling myself out on use of the 3rd person)), then for the love of Jeff Green keep the Tide bottle away. If the HOYAS have come performed better in halves that you've turned your 1993 Starter cap backwards, keep that brim away from your forehead. If Scooby Doo is a good luck charm, then...oh wait, Scooby Doo didn't show up to the UNC game...that one gets a pass.
You get the point. WWJTIIID? I don't know, but he certainly wouldn't jinx the team.
GO HOYAS!!!

Might also want to create a higher level for the sfhoyas and lic's of this world. Perhaps we can call it, "JTIII Hoya?"

I Oh sure, regalmeans, it's a high crime when a male stereotypes girls, but all is well and good making fun of men with a wide brush. Way to rise above, you sexist hypocrite. In the future, admit to yourself that outside of a few superfans, such as calihoya, suzyhoya, and redheadedhoya (is she as hot as her avatar?), men do sports, and women do shopping. Facts is facts, regal. (Caution: this post was not checked for accuracy in quotations and/or analysis.) Cute disclaimer. Next time check your quotes before you attack someone. You can read what *I* did say here: hoyatalk2.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1175096407&page=1#1175097585The comment making generalizations about men? Not mine. Now I completely understand why more women don't post here. Comprende. So, as I was saying, Calihoya, it's pretty easy to get a precise reaction out of someone. Next time on Cold Pizza, just remember that if a superwoman from Georgetown can be counted on for a certain reaction, there's no chance someone from OSU, UCLA, or FU won't be duped into giving you your desired reaction. Thanks, Regalmeans, for proving the point...now go out and root, root, root for the HOYAS!!!

I didn't see Cold Pizza, but I agree that calihoya has ballzh (Kim Jong-Il says it beautifully) for acknowledging her error. It's still an embarrassment, but what hasn't been mentioned is that she spoke the truth. Georgetown is populated by considerably higher intellects than is Ohio State--facts is facts. In the future, though, calihoya, use this GU quality to your advantage by opening in a way that makes the other guy (girl?) strike first. Because you are smarter, you should be able to predict what his (her?) insult will be, and you should have a prepared response. --For instance, you could have started out saying, "The students are just really happy that the team was able to fight through some close, tough games to get to the Final 4. It was great to beat the old BE rival BC, come back against a top notch team like UNC, and Jeff Green's shot against Vandy is one for the GTown history books!" --To which your less intelligent rival would have mentioned the phantom travel. --To which you would have prepared a response not only proving it wasn't a travel, but also bringing up a certain non-call of pass-interference in overtime of OSU-Miami in the BCS championship game a few years ago. ZING! Set the trap and pounce. On the other hand, I have a real problem with the sexism I've seen on this thread: Get over yourself sweetheart. I was at Final Four Hoya games before you were born. All men are neanderthal idiots. Oh sure, regalmeans, it's a high crime when a male stereotypes girls, but all is well and good making fun of men with a wide brush. Way to rise above, you sexist hypocrite. In the future, admit to yourself that outside of a few superfans, such as calihoya, suzyhoya, and redheadedhoya (is she as hot as her avatar?), men do sports, and women do shopping. Thanks to everyone who wrote Boswell or posted in the comments section of the article. This is great work. It just sucks to have to defend what was an unbelievable play against claims that Jeff cheated when it's so clearly not true. No asterisk on the Hoyas victory! HOYAS WIN HOYAS WIN HOYAS WIN Nice job sparking the firestorm, ragin' bayner.

By the way Conley is the best guard I've watched all year and he plays as old as Oden looks. I only wish that Conley played like he was 60 years old. He'd have no chance then!

I seem to remember that last year, when we played Ohio State in the second round (and thoroughly dismantled them), the announcers kept on talking about the impending arrival of Greg Oden. During that game, I was really hoping that Hibbert would one day have the chance to prove himself against this upstart whippersnapper, and I'm really glad that his time has come. The most recent battles of the 7-footers, those of Hibbert and the big fat baby (Aaron Gray...look at how he waddles!), left Gray demoralized and probably cost him millions in NBA contract money. Here's to hoping that Hibbert goes to 2-0 in his devastating run through NCAA basketball's best 7-footers. ROY...ROY! ROY! ROY! GO HOYAS!!

I know the Claire Coopers exist but that doesn't mean I have to like them. A current student I know posted on her blog that she had been indifferent to the Hoyas for four years but decided to become a fan with ten minutes left in the UNC game on Saturday. No, I didn't get the day wrong, she did. For suddenly choosing to be a fan, you would think she'd at least get the day of the game right. I quote here: "So I fell in love with Georgetown basketball in the last 10 minutes of the game on Saturday. haha. During most of my time here at Georgetown, I was pretty indifferent to basketball, but now I am a true Hoya. M street so got mobbed when we won and thousands of students ran 2 miles down to the White House to sing the fight song. I wish I could have been there! Curse living off campus!" Ugh -_- Does she allow feedback on her blog?

Maybe she's into soccer or sailing, or into community service or campus ministry. Unless there was a sea-change this year (haha...sea!), then I can vouch that human beings(?) such as her do not exist on the sailing team. Besides, can you imagine Claire Cooper's being a national champion in anything, except for being LAME! and WEAK!?
