it wont be announced for a while usually we are one of the last to hear back to when and where we play...usually we compile our schedule up through other teams coming out with their schedules...but that isnt until the summer

the schedule is hard to predict this year because the Big East is extending its conference games so we will either have to buy out two of our 300+ RPI teams or not replace expiring OOC games with Navy and JMU.

Right. As far as we know, there will be 18 Big East games, but we don't know which teams GU plays twice. We also know the following OOC games, or at least we think we know: @ ODU @ Ball State Michigan
Oregon, Vandy, and Duke series were all home and home, so we don't know if they have been renewed. I would not mind renewing all 3.
Rumors of a game in Birmingham, probably vs. 'Bama, as part of a doubleheader in a mini SEC/Big East challenge.
No other rumors I can think of. Navy, Towson are likely to stay on the schedule, I imagine, or perhaps some other local teams. Some talk of Mason a while back.

I'm looking forward to that one for selfish reasons.

We finished our home-and-homes with Vandy, Fairfield, JMU, Oregon, Duke, and Navy.
We finished the first year of home-and-homes with 3 others, leaving us @hartford, @ball State, vs. Michigan (though I'm not certain on home-and-home with Hartford, but pretty sure about Ball State and certain about Michigan).
Did we sign a two-year agreement with Oral Roberts? A game @oru would be a good RPI booster.
And we host some tournament games at the phone booth next year, so don't be surprised to see Duke or another contender try to get Gtown at home to get familiar with Verizon.

Did we really give ORU a home and home too? Why?
Also, wonder if JTIII gives Broadus a big helping hand and schedules a series with Binghamton.

With 18 Big East games, and the fact that we scheduled 26 regular season games in 2006 and 29 in 2007, and assuming that we buy out Winston-Salem State and Hartford our schedule would look like this
18 BE Regular Season Games @ Ball State @ ORU @ ODU @ Towson Michigan
That puts us at 23. Giving us 3-6 more OOC games, assuming that we do not play in an exempt tournament.
Some notes on the schedule as it stands now: there is no early season road test in the schedule - Thompson III likes to take his teams pretty far away from DC early in the season (Oregon, Vandy) and then again before or after finals (Illinois/UTEP, Michigan). So far it looks like we are missing those challenging road games with ORU and ODU being very different teams next year. We also don't have a real marquee early season home game - Michigan is nice, but its not Duke or Oregon.

Fairfield was a two-for-one deal. They are coming back to DC.

one thing - I don't think we should ever assume that a team has a home and home series deal unless you have seen it explicitly stated somewhere. I mean, when was the last time we reciprocated with schools like Howard, Morgan St, Grambling, UMES? Same thing with scholarships.
