Dont forget that SH will be without McKnight....whatever happened I can't believe he's back for Wednesday...Cale can only shoot in Jersey and Mamau(?)is still out...if 2nd half GTown shows up we'll have a chance... Does that include Butler 2nd half Gtown?!!

I am surprised our poor clock management at the end of the game isn’t getting more attention. We were down 67-64, the shot clock was 38 and Allen fouls? This is unacceptable. 8 seconds is more than enough to get a shot up, plus Butler isn’t going to wait to 8 seconds to shoot. If it’s 67-64, and you get a stop, you get a chance to shoot a 3 to tie. If it’s 67-64 and you foul, unless you get massively lucky and the other guy misses both, then it’s 69-64 or 68-64 and you then need to score twice, still rushing a shot, to catch up. I realize this is only one small aspect of the game, but it falls on coaching, and Ewing failed. Unless Allen went rogue. I disagree. I 100% agree with fouling there and extending the game. At a minimum, it is a debatable point/strategy.

The team looked like it had no plan coming out of the second half. Putting Pickett on Bey is not an adjustment. The plan every offensive possession should have been to exploit our size down low And who would cover Bey? Bey flipping owned everybody who covered him today and most often he was making shots with players defending him really well? So you're smart what do you do? What player on the bench do you use? What player that has been burned badly do you put on him? It is not who. It is the strategy. Whoever it was (Pickett or Mosely) should literally have been at his side the entire game. Ignore everything else going on on the court. That is a defensive strategy. Georgetown has actually employed it very successfully many times over the past 30 years. You are right he was still hitting everything, but a lot of them were wide open looks.

Just a complete utter failure on defensive execution nearly the entire game. You can blame the coaches or the players, but in the one first half timeout they went to Pat he said exactly what you have to do. Everyone guard there own man. You can’t help with this team and then leave shooters. That’s their offense. And we fell for it the whole game. Just a terrible job. Even Emote said at one point “what is Pickett doing”. I never played the game beyond high school. I am sure it is easier said tgan done. But we were awful at it today. Just awful.

Maryland looked like garbage at Iowa last night. Road games in conference are tough. Tough, yes. But unfortunately you have to win a few if you are a good team.

McClung was a pure biatch for that one. He fouled them then tried to taunt him down 20. What the hell? You are pathetic. He is a troll. Best to just ignore anything he posts.

Can anyone living outside the US provide any tips on how to stream the game? The Fox sports app would not let me watch the American game because I am outside the US, so assume it will be the same today.

Hey, I really want to be optimistic but I think we can all agree that what we saw from those 4 BE teams last night is nothing like we saw from the last 6 teams we played. All those teams will pound it inside and try to draw fouls on Yurt and Pickett. Once they do then what? And that's assuming Pickett does not revert to the AU Pickett and that Blair also doesn't play like he has the last two years. Look, I loved the way the Hoyas have played since the defenestration but even Ewing seems to understand that we have to play much, much better to beat our BE opponents. That said Providence really sucks and Seton Hall is playing without the pre-concussion Powell. So 2-0 or 1-1 is very possible. I think we should just cancel the big east season. I don’t see how we could possibly compete with these teams. Why even bother to play the games.

I just want the Hoyas to keep playing like they have the last 5 games for the rest of the season. You need to start thinking big like Liz and Bernie. And JohnnyJones.

I want just 3 things:
1. A Big East regular season championship 2. A Big East tournament championship 3. A National championship
All this year. But that’s it.

Expected easy win. It may be because of the bad opponents but the offense the last 2 games hasn’t been as good as those previous 3 games. There were a lot of guys hunting their own shots and playing selfish today. He defense today was quite bad but it didn’t matter. Selfish play today? You are so clueless.

When Ewing called for Ighoefe, like 5 guys on the bench all got super excited and were patting him on the back as he stood up to check in. Cool to see. I noticed that as well. It was also pretty funny how he really struggled to get his warmup pants off. One of the managers actually came over and ripped them off him. Also in the category of team chemistry (and sorry if this was already mentioned) but after Mac's dunk all 4 other guys on the court made a point of coming over to him for a fist bump. They were all laughing and shaking their heads. Was that, in fact, Mac's first actual dunk of the year? It was the first I can remember.

Boz and Buffalo are definitely missed. I think Buffalo was the author of the Best 80s Movie Girlfriend thread which may be the high point of HoyaTalk. BigDog has also been a great loss; probably the member I found myself most in sync with in terms of views on the program. BigDog, right. Forgot about that guy. There have been some good ones over the years. I joined sometime between June 1 and Dec 31 1998. I remember how excited I was when I found the first Board.

I don't know how you can be "spot on" and agree "100%" with that comment. I don't know that we should be "happy" Akinjo is gone. I really wished that he and Mac could mesh as a top notch back court. having said that, I would say that Akinjo was young--and, it seems, highly emotional. I know that Ewing had said several time that he was stubborn. Apparently he thinks he should be the go to guy. There is nothing wrong with that except that it clashes with what the coach is trying to build. I wish him the best wherever he lands. However, the show must go on. I read his post, and I agree with it 100%. Not sure what else to say. That is my opinion.
