It'd be fun (for college bball fans) to have the teams play each other based on their order from the year before (1st BE-1st ACC, 2nd BE-2nd ACC, 3rd BE-3rd ACC, etc...) and it'd help our conference rpi as it'd force teams like Cuse and Pitt to play real teams in their nonconference schedule. It'd be a pretty definitive way to show that the Big East is better too. I agree with you, but I can't help laugh at what a college basketball fan without ties to Georgetown might think of your pointing the finger at Cuse and Pitt about non-conference scheduling ...

When you lose close games, it becomes very easy to look to a few questionable or bad calls as the reason you lost. Fans of every team do it - I surely do. Buckeye has made sport of it. The way Georgetown has lost close games in agonizing fashion over the years, I could have listed probably a dozen or so games (with the SHU 6 man game at the top of the list) where, at least in the immediate (emotional) aftermath of the game, I was convinced the men in stripes cost us the game. But usually by the next day, I (correctly) realize, boy we blew that one.

B70 -
Enjoy your contributions to the HoyaSaxa board, but please...enough of the stepping in bounds /swallow the whistle from 1/15. In the aftermath of the game, you repeatedly stated that Georgetown deseved to win the game, which is 100% true. So then why the reference every time you post here? It seems that you don't really believe it. Not to mention, we have all been in that position. Georgetown tied a game at Pitt last year with a few seconds left and got called for a foul with < 1 second left and lost on free throws. It is agony, but you move on. ND choked away a sure win last night, up 11 with 4+ minutes left. It wasn't the Brey technical that cost them that game - not even close. It seems that you have an exciting team to watch this year, maybe you should focus on the players and not worry so much about the officials who, for the most part, do a decent job.
Looking forward to 2/27.

What I failed to mention in my response was that I find myself unable to set aside my biases.

What Skinner has done at BC this year is surely impressive, but what JTIII is doing at GU this year is more than that. It is, quite frankly, hard to believe. Georgetown's turnaround this year is, in my view, more a product of the new head coach than BC's improvement this year is a result of Skinner's efforts. BC has talent. Skinner has surely fostered his players improvement and production and molded a great team, but let's be honest, the HS rating services simply got it wrong on some of these guys. They have talent (e.g., C. Smith). It is a close call, but I would give the edge to JT III at this point. If BC goes undefeated, Skinner will win, but if they don't and we get 10+ conference wins, it should go to JT III.

Speaking of the starting five, if I remember correctly, we did not start the 2nd half with the usual starting five. Very rare, but I like it.

I was scheduled to go down to NJ today for the game but had to cancel because my nine month old has a stomach virus. As a result, I just called DirecTV to upgrade my package so that I have FSNY and will get the game tonight. I live in Arlington just off of Route 2 and would be happy to host anyone interested in watching the game. Please call me at 617-359-5548.

Didn't see GPHoya's post before I replied. Every year I spend the cash on Full Court and it seems like at least half of the GO games on the schedule end up being on basic cable in the Boston area. Hoya saxa.

Many congratulations to Coach Thompson and the team. A road win, in conference, in the first BE game of the year, starting 3 freshman, against a high quality opponent is a terrific accomplishment. I took a great deal of comfort during the game with Coach T on the sidelines. Let's keep it going.
