Take the starters out and take the air out of the ball.
No need for anyone to get hurt before the dance.

On the stat sheet there is nothing at all about the two babies he delivered at halftime. Oh, and that civil war in Iraq is all taken care of too, hit that during the under 12 TV timeout Actually, it was just a ho-hum day for Jeff. He woke up. Called his mom and told her that he loved her. Brokered a peace settlement with a 2 state solution in the middle east, showered, shot Osama and kicked Zarkawi in the nuts, met with the team for lunch, delivered a speech before the UN in over 14 languages, saved no less than 3 children, had dinner, and then dropped 30+ on Notre Dame. On the way to the locker room he wrote the greatest poem known to man. Then he dressed went back to the hotel and grabbed some rest. Yep...today was a good day...

The Big John/Patrick Ewing angle is overplayed in the media, but they always pick one thing and beat it to death. He stays as far away as he can during the games. And he's family in more ways than one. I thought that last image tonight was priceless. I agree...They're not beating it to death like the media did the Lovie Smith/Tony Dungee angle, but they seem to be getting their money's worth. But the shadow that Big Pat and Big John cast over this program is pretty huge. I think our generation will have to die-out before the comparisons start to dwindle. And I think Big John and Pat Sr. being around the program is helping way more than it's hindering.

I wonder what it's like knowing that your performance is going to be critiqued(sp) by the assistant coaches, the head coach, and the head coach's father.
Did you see the exchange between Jeff and Big John after the game?

I think if they have a significant run into the NCAA tourney and Jeff has a great showing, he has no choice but to go.
I think Roy is coming back next year. I think he'll definitely improve his draft stock by playing another year. Although he's a junior, Roy is very young and still growing into his body. Another year at college will give him the opportunity to dominate and get necessary court-time to improve his game.

Can we forget Tyrone Willingham (like the rest of the United States) and get back to the issue at hand? Someone on ND Nation, in predicting a win over Georgetown, has quoted Billy Joel. Can we all agree that no team -- NO TEAM -- with fans who like, and quote, Billy Joel deserves to win? Friggin bug-eyed, piano-playing troll! (nodak doesn't have any BJ songs in his discography, does he?) But he IS the Piano Man and he married a super-model. Doesn't that count for something?

Very important to know your history...
Even more important to learn and grow because/in spite of it...

I was posting late in the game that I hadn't seen a Team shoot this well against us since '85 Villanova, but erased it in fear of bad karma. you probably didn't see the 1st Pitt game of this season; those Bamas were on FIRE!!! But I agree that ND shot very well. I knew they would cool down, or our defense would step up. I was just hoping that we didn't get too far behind.

I'll miss you, Mr. Green.
Hopefully you get drafted by someone I like. But if you don't, your new team will be my new team.
Brilliant performance.
Way to step up, Dajuan and Lil' Pat.
One thing is for sure, we're definitely battle tested against teams with very good guard play.
If we can beat ND, we can handle Louisville again.
The test will be Pitt.

At least he's not actively rooting against us (yet), as he did in the 1994 tournament. but he was the Governor of Arkansas...

Duke is the only team in the polls with a .500 conference record...
Everyone else has a winning record and at least 10 wins in their conference.

What a great article. I am having a battle with one of my Terp fan friends, and he broke out the whole "Georgetown lies to recruits and lets them think it is a black school" garbage yeasterday, which really got me fired up. . . . I feel that the only people that make this argument are WHITE fans of other schools (esp. the Twerps). I am not one to cry racist too quickly, but this smacks of latent racism. In this wonderful period of information, if a recruit can't discover that G'Town is not an HBCU, do you really think he's smart enough to attend the university? Not every institution is going to be everything to everybody. Some schools are too black, some schools are too white, some are too liberal, some are too conservative. Don't feel the need to correct everyone that has something negative to say about Georgetown, past or present.

Green will look a bit out of place in the NBA when he eventually gets there. He has no tattoos, and he no longer has a distinctive 'do. The braids he once sported are long gone.
"I tell everybody I'm growing up," he said. "I can't be 25 with braids, looking for a job."
This is why I like this guy...
