It's amazing how styles make match-ups. ND has Syracuse number and based on the earlier season game between us and ND, it would appear that we match up against them well. They are a perimeter team and we have shown that we can shut down perimeter teams. It's going to be interesting to see how different this game is compared to the last.

keep on feeding the 7'2 man-child. Don't be surprised if he eats Kurz and then begins to chow on Haranugly but then spits him out b/c he tastes bad.
Roy needs to get 20 touches in the paint tomorrow - then we will win. continue with the single-digit turnovers and guard the perimeter with your life.

Like almost everyone else, I wanted to play SUcks. The matchup should be interesting, we handled them pretty easilly, but that was a LONG time ago.

Yeh, I was going to say, for all those people who think it is difficult beating a team more than once in a season, ND proved that wrong. You are right, some teams just have other's numbers based on match-ups. It's hard to settle into a 2-3 when a team shoots 3-pointers well all night.
I think we had the right approach last time. I refuse to have this team lose another Friday night heartbreaker in the BET !

Definitely time to regain our place as the dominant program in the BE - crush the Irish tomorrow, then beat somebody we already beat this season, and we arrive.

Looking at the boxscore on sportsline, ND basically won the game with foul shooting, making 22-26 vs. Syracuse's 16-29. Also looks like Syracuse jacked a lot of bad threes, going 5-24.
But TOs were even and Syracuse outrebounded them.
If Villanova is a bad matchup for us, we look like a bad matchup for Notre Dame. Play good defense, post up Jeff and Roy, and we should be fine.

Cuse would have been nice since it would have been their 3rd game, but ND is a better match up and I always enjoy the Orange losing.
I need to reel myself back in regarding expectations for tomorrow.

Two of the 3 teams that we lost to in the regular season are not out of the tournament. Let's take care of business and play out style of basketball for a full game.

There will be one at Summers in Courthouse. I'm working out the details - expect specials on Killiens and Miller Light and the back room open.

Digger basically just called our blowout of Notre Dame an anomaly and Harangody will shut down Hibbert AND Green

Digger also said that the winner of the BET gets a three seed. Seems to imply that if we win it, we're still stuck at three, and then if we don't, we won't even get a three, though I guess I could be reading into his statement a bit too much on that very last point.
Regardless, he sounded like an idiot just now.

Kiliens : Killian's :: Adidums : Adidas. "For less money, I get extra stripe!" EDIT: To keep this relevant, here's the box score from our regular season game against the Irish. If it's any indication, Harangody may have some trouble shutting down our frontcourt. Maybe the city of South Bend gives Digger 10 bucks off his property taxes every time he hypes the home team?

Killian, Killion, Killion, Kilian are all variants I've seen.... being a descendant of German Killians myself I've done the genealogical research and there is actually a DNA study being done to try to link the German Killians and the Irish Killions.

We do seem to have a good matchup against ND, but our offense does not seem to be what it was when we last played them. I will echo the point I have stated in different places that we NEED Jessie or DaJuan (better yet, both) to step up and regain their shooting touch and shot selection. It was great to see the trio of Roy, Jeff and Jon (although Jeff seemed to be a little off) all come through today and we can win many games with them doing most of the damage. However, that 4th (and 5th) offensive threat on the floor really makes this team a huge load for any team we could possibly play. I think we present enough problems for ND that we win this one as long as we come to play and we don't let them go completely insane from 3 point land. I would LOVE to see that 45/35 (no worse than 45% from the field and 35% from "3") combo from Jessie and DaJuan though. Go Hoyas!!!!

Wait, Digger is talking about Notre Dame right. The Notre Dame that lost to St Johns, South Florida and Depaul ? Just to be clear, that is who is talking about, right? The team that won 2 road games this season, right? The team that didnt even play Pitt this year.

More importantly, with ND, there can be no fouling them when they are shooting 3s! Their entire offense is 3pters and put backs.
Let's go HO-YAS!!!!!!!!!!!
