Hoyas' D comes up big again, dropping the Howard QB for a big loss after they managed to move the ball into Hoya territory again. The ensuing punt bounced into the endzone for a touchback, putting the Hoyas in the driver's seat for the first time all game.
I'd like to see them really chew some clock up on this possession.

During this timeout, I'd like to note that Comm Break 12 seems much more compelling than Comm Break 11...

Brady hits Kenny Mitchell for a TD! Mitchell was wide open on that pass.
Of course, the Hoyas miss the PAT, so it's 9-7 Hoyas.

Brady launches a deep strike to Kenny Mitchell, putting the Hoyas at the Howard 29! About time!

Howard was able to move the ball into Hoya territory on the ensuing possession, but the defense stops a short run, and forces a turnover on downs.

The Defense seems to really be playing well, at least. They force a 3-and-out and the Hoyas get the ball back at the Howard 45.
That, and Howard's special teams have really stunk. Their punting needs work.

This game is terrible. We have begun three drives with momentum in Howard territory, but the lack of imagination in play-calling is killing us. The series following the fumble recovery is indicative. Houghton makes a nice run, called back for holding. Next play is a run into the line for one yard. Third play is a pass over the receiver's head, bringing up 3d and 19. Brady makes a nice pass to Barbiaz(sp) for 17 yards, and a pass on 4th and 2 into traffic falls incomplete.

If the guy who recovered the Howard fumble hadn't been on his knees when he did it, it looks like it could have been 6 for GU.

GU did nothing but retreat after getting the ball with good field position. This QB by committee business looks just awful.

You don't play in the same shoes your whole life. It's not so much a matter of whether you can as whether you'd want to...

The fact that I, showcase, am not on this list is a travesty.

That's terrible - my thoughts go out to Alex on what must have been a truly disappointing weekend. At least he can say that his loss drove the Redskins to replace him with Jason Taylor...

I thought this was the buckeye70 thread asking if we were going to schedule ND soon as part of a push to upgrade football for whenever the seemingly inevitable Big East split comes to pass. My mistake...

I thought Jim Bolger wore 23, and Demarest was 11.

Ah, now the offseason is complete--Buckeye70 coming over to talk about the breaking up of Big East and what would happen. Seriously, someone should add this to the thread on the offseason traditions for the HoyaTalk board. Although this one feels more like a semi-annual event.

Unless the program takes a big leap forward starting with this season, I'm worried that the series with Howard will end before the Hoyas see any benefit from it.

I'm surprised hifi isn't here already, pontificating on the merits of Macklin becoming a Gator, and how much better he would be in that program.
For the first and perhaps only time in my life, I'm rooting for Clemson on this one.
Ultimately, I hope Macklin prospers wherever he ends up (unless it's at the Hoyas's expense), but Florida would probably be a bit much to stomach.

I vaguely remember seeing this kid in some of my classes (being SFS '95 myself), but NONE of them were of the porn-dragon Jewish conspiracy kind. I'm pretty sure I would have remembered that.
