The freakshow moves to Cincinnati as Riek, Reik, Reik Suas, etc...committed to be with Bearcat program this Fall--and will team with Biggie McClain--if he gets clearance from AARP--and Clearinghouse to play. Good luck to the elder gentleman and hope it works out for him--but this has been one of the strangest, oddest recruitments EVER. From not knowing the guy's real name, age, school, status regarding whether he's signed with agent or not, just mind boggling it ends up with him simply choosing a school on August 2nd and all set/ready to go without any obstacles. Well--at least UConn won't be the biggest team at Center in League--now with Biggie and F-Riek down low--they'll be some big kids in Bearcat uniforms. Only request--when he enters game against Hoyas--the announcers/PA guy has to say "From PARTS UNKNOWN....John Riek".

Well, I hope things work out well for the kid. It sounds like he's been taken advantage of by a lot of sleazy people.

I have hard a hard time rooting against him, because as far as I can tell, he has wanted nothing but to play basketball, and he has been handled, managed, etc. by a bunch of people whose interests were not always aligned with his.

wow, Big East is no joke next year and beyond. I think the play this here should silence any debate about which conference is the deepest and best in college basketball.

but he's not 7-2 like it says in the title of the article.
also from now on can we only record players heights in shoes. I mean no one's out there playing barefoot.

The obvious reason why they measure barefoot is because you can change shoes. I know this seems incredibly obvious, but if a guy is playing in lower shoes, he could, you know, add an inch by changing shoes. Or even more likely, some smart guys might wear some ridiculous shoes to the measurement camp just to get an edge. You don't play in the same shoes your whole life.

You don't play in the same shoes your whole life. It's not so much a matter of whether you can as whether you'd want to...
