As I recall, the NCAA came out just days after that Wetzel column and exonerated Dook.
That said, it's still an investigation, and Dookie V is still an annoying Dook apologist.

"Kansas put me on hold to see if one of their players was transferring." Uh, Galindo transferred, and you were still on "hold"? Or is he referring to someone else? With a mouth as big as his, it's no wonder he's "270lbs." Yup, he definitely got his 'Shuttlesworth.' I hope he didn't bond to closely with Quin, because he might be gone before Thomas ever sets foot on campus.

Well, according to Thomas: www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-0504170173apr17,1,2394643.story?coll=chi-sportsnew-hed This was on April 16th, so I suppose his visit to Kansas will be next weekend (April 29th). However, I've heard that Mizzou has suddenly entered the picture as well. Guess we'll just have to see.

Seems like someone's been drinking the same water as hoyaron. Given that columns like Davis's aren't supposed to be factual, couldn't he have just invented an additional highly speculative supposition that would have reinforced his premise that by allowing PR Jr to transfer "Thompson will have made the first controversial move of his Georgetown career"? Seems like Davis is suffering from the off-seaons doldrums just like the rest of us.

I'm inclined to say PE, Jr. wouldn't count against the scholarship limit immediately, but that's based solely on my own instinct, unfortunately.
As for the question of whether he's going to require a scholarship for the remainder of his college career, I wonder if that will be the case. According to reports he was looking at UNC and Miami, and I'm a little dubious on the prospect of UNC offering a scholarship at this point. If they could use him next year (to make up for the gutting of their roster, what with all the early entrants) I could see it, but PE Jr. can't help out next year. I don't think they'll have any trouble getting high quality talent at this point, and not to knock PE Jr's performance at IU or his potential, I would think that Roy Williams would prefer to try and snag the latest hot recruit than tie up a scholarship on a transfer. But that's just me.
So, maybe now that he's proven that he's scholarship worthy by getting a scholarship from IU, he'll let dad pay foot the bill? A Hoya can always dream...

Just to get back into the swing of things, I locked down the Ewing speculation thread and BD's thread that was aced out by this one (6 minutes earlier). There's no rust on this mod, folks.

Will you be taking the reign name Censore I? Or John Bosco, the patron saint of editors?

By "in the United States," did you mean with EA Sports All-Stars or something comparable? Because 7ppg & 4rpg doesn't strike me as having punched one's ticket for anywhere other than Europe. Okay, maybe Shanghai.

Didn't Deke have a commercial at one point? Something about playing in the house of Mutombo?
If so, that raises some subsidiary questions: Would there be sexing of Mutombo, and if so, would take take Deke into Michael Jackson land?

Visits?

yeah, like when darnell jefferson went to visit ESU... Ahhh, The Program. Quality cinema. I think perhaps we should really pull out all the stops and lay out a recruiting trip like when Jesus Shuttlesworth visited BSU, but after the Colorado debacle, maybe that's not such a great idea. Really, I think Esh's recruiting problems related to the closure of Champs, but that's a hypothesis I'm still just kicking around. Honestly, I think the Hilltop's campus is as attractive as any. Obviously, what one expects in a campus is highly subjective, but Main Campus certainly was when I was there in the early 90s (just don't take anyone across town to the Law School, although that's vastly improved in the last three years, too). Maybe the new construction on the west and south ends of campus have given it a bit of a claustrophic feel, but I doubt it (from what I've experienced, anyway). Ultimately, I think that if you take a recruit up to a late afternoon party on Village A rooftop, and hit a few partys on the way down to M St., the recruit will likely leave with a positive impression of Georgetown's campus environment.

I don't think DePaul will be excited about handing over the reigns to a coach who couldn't seem to handle things in the old Big East. I still feel like Esh is going to have to start somewhere like the Ivies or Patriot League where the expectations may be a bit lower than a school like DePaul that absolutely needs to succeed right now.

Esh will be the next coach at Florida Pacific. Well, in fairness to the good people down there in Boca, there could be a Florida Gulf. Or Florida Kissimmee. Or Florida Swamp. It's imporant to make these geographical distinctions, otherwise you'd have people around the country going "Yes, but WHAT BODY OF WATER ARE THEY PROXIMATE TO?" As a nation, we can't afford that. A nation uncertain-as-to-where-in-Florida-that-basketball-team-on-TV-is-located cannot stand.

I find it charming coming from you that my word choice is somehow "an attempt at being condescending or patronizing." The whole point of several contributions on this thread is that your very tone in upbraiding RDF's posts re: Thomas was that it could easily be labeled as condescending/patronizing. And, for the record, I never actually wrote "'...Ron has come down from the Mount to tell us poor non-subscribers the "facts."'" Hoopsmccan offered that nice little turn of phrase, so your supposition is, ultimately, misplaced.
