I am really curious about this guy. Davis' speculation in his article piqued my interest again. Anybody have any inside info on the situation?

Well, according to Thomas: www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-0504170173apr17,1,2394643.story?coll=chi-sportsnew-hed This was on April 16th, so I suppose his visit to Kansas will be next weekend (April 29th). However, I've heard that Mizzou has suddenly entered the picture as well. Guess we'll just have to see.

Just noticed this news flash: nbadraft.net/draftbuzz037.aspBut once that Ryan Wolf (ex-coach of Barton County Community College ... where Ricky Clemons did "summer school" for 24 credit hours) starts spilling his guts to avoid jail time, I think Mizzou is going to be in for some very, very hard times. There are probably other Big 12 programs which had "dealings" with BCCC when Wolf was there. The guy seems to have been a "master" at putting finishing touches on players' transcripts to get them eligible.

i love watching missery (mizzou) go through tough times. its not even a rivalry for kansas anymore. they kill them in hoops and have taken the edge in football the past two years.
missouri could certainly use someone like thomas, they are not a physical team except for klaiza. so his size is a plus for him, but i dont know how anyone could commit to play for quinn.

A rivalry is always a rivalry if its a real one, I hate people who start claiming its not a rivalry cause they've been much better than the other team for a while.
A rivalry remains a rivalry no matter what, if both teams are great, one team is great and the other horrible, or both are horrible. That shouldnt be the main thing in a real rivalry.
A rivalry game should be able to almost make a teams entire season, even if they've had a bad year. It raises a bad teams level of play and it equalizes things. It gets both fan bases excited and they want to beat the other team no matter what, not even considering records.

SJU-Gu was a rivalry back in the day, but it isn't now...this team doesn't get any more fired up playing SJU than they do playing prov

I agree with 07 in one way -- real rivalries don't fade. Of course, that means GU-Cuse isn't a real rivalry. Everyone knows how USC-UCLA will end, but people still care.

Yeah, I agree with SF's view on rivalries, he made a good post about it over on the BigEast board the other day.
I'm not saying this because of the situation between us and Cuse over the past few years, its just how I feel. SF is probably correct in saying that we dont have any true rivalries, Im agreeing with that more and more. We have a couple teams we really cant stand, but Im not sure we can call them rivalries.
We dont play any single program enough in several sports for it to be a real strong rivalry. The fact that we dont compete against Nova or Cuse in footbal seriously takes away from the possibility of a rivalry.

It's pretty funny how everybody keeps saying SU-GU isn't a rivalry anymore, but everybody upstate is still either obsessed with talking about beating Georgetown, or else they're obsessed with talking about how it isn't a rivalry anymore. Seems like either way, they still think about it all the time.

The more people talk about DeAndrew THomas...and the more DeAndrew talks about himself...the more I want the guy. I know he doesn't fit the Hoya mold, but there's something to be said for people as confident as him. People like that tend to will themselves to victory (or end up like Ryan Leaf).... I dunno, just felt like throwing that out there...he's a really intriuging prospect.

If you are truly that good, it'll speak for itself and you wouldn't be "searching" for schools to take you. The guy is not being honest about his options and I'm quite confident we'll see him end up at Missouri if they offer because I honestly feel that is his ONLY true offer. Take a tour of Illinois and Kansas websites and ask them about Thomas--a lot of their fans have seen him play, and you might see why I'm hoping he ends up elsewhere.

Apparently Thomas has verballed to Mizzou. I guess he wants four shots at proving to Illinois that he is good enough.
Good luck, DT (DWS)

Brad Burgess who runs the Inside Mizzou website posted that D.T. had given a verbal to Quin.
Then threads started popping up on that message board and the indie website Tiger Board.
THEN the article about the verbal got deleted. As did a bunch of threads talking about the "commitment" on Inside Mizzou.
Meanwhile, Tiger Board pundits are out in full force wondering what's going on.
Anytime the recruitment of a player takes this many odd twists and turns, with "offers" that can't be confirmed, and "interest" etc. --- I don't know. It gives me the "willies" about having the player on our radar, if indeed we even do. The kid "might" be OK and all. But this is getting to be a circus.

In a Rivals interview he was simply raving about his Mizzou visit and how special they treated him and the current bball players. Said they treated him like an NBA player. ;D Does that mean he got the Jesus Shuttleworth treatment?

"They treated him like an NBA Player". If I were to guess, they probably thought they were hanging out with Oliver Miller so why wouldn't they treat him that way?
I hope to God he's committed to Missouri, because I don't ever want to see this kid near GU again. At first I didn't like his game from seeing it and hearing from more informed sources, now I don't like the chaotic lying/mystery that seems to follow him from every update.
Call me cruel, but this type of attention and hype is aleays ridiculous, but it would be less annoying to me if the guy was really good--he's a marginal player who's far from being a contributor on next level.

The confirmation from the Chicago Tribune is posted on the front page, with quotes from Thomas on his visit to Missouri.

RDF was right on this one; no tears should be shed for a guy who CHOOSES Snyder and the Missouri "program" over III and GU. If anything, we should be wishing him a LOT of luck because he will need gobs of it.....
