I agree with TheStig - HC dropped a number of passes that could easily have made the outcome worse. There were some great individual plays on defense, but overall the HC receiving corps had its way. It was particularly painful to watch when the Hoyas went to the dime and only rushed 3; when allowed time to operate, the only thing that could reliably stop HC's passing game were the dropped passes.
On offense, the Hoyas' primary killer was the large number of deflections, many of which resulted in INTs. That said, I thought no TO was more of a killer than the botched lateral shortly after the deep toss to Mitchell as the half was winding down. Instead of keeping HC on their heels and maybe evening things up at 14-14, the Hoyas gave the ball back and HC marched downfield in quick order to make it 21-7 right before half.
There were nice moments again in the 2d half, but you could sort of tell it was already over at that point.

Well, the final Hoyas drive goes nowhere. LU24-GU6.

Lafayette gets a nice run to the .5 yard line (excellent work by the #41 to drag the runner down short of the goal line).
The goalline defense will have to step up again. It's a matter of pride.
No gain on the first down run. QB sneak gets it done for LU, however.

The Leopards seem to be rolling again, driving down inside the Hoya 20 with under 3:00 left.

Play selection from the 20:
Shovel pass, gain of 2. Brady rolls right, Hoyas flagged for holding, forced back to the 16. Brady passes incomplete along the right sideline. Brady passes into the left flat for a short gain, and the Hoyas punt.

Defense clamps down after giving up a long pass. I wonder if the LU receiver that was the target of that 3d down pass is suffering from alligator arms...?
Hoyas take over from their 20.

Got to like what the defense is giving us today. The offense has shown flashes but is still operating right on the edge.
Hopefully the O can step it up in the second half and take some of the pressure off of the defense; they're certainly playing well enough so far, however.

HOYAS step up on D and force a LU FG from the 6 yard line. LU 10-0 with 0:13 left in the half.

Time for the D to step it up another notch:
LU passes right for 2 LU inside handoff nets 4. LU pass over the middle picks up 14 to the GU10.
Gulp.

Hoyas take over from the LU40:
Lawrence passes to Harrison in the left flat for 10, but it's erased by a hold. With the loss of 3, Lawrence options right to Harrison for 6. Brady comes in to throw the interception on 2d down. At least he makes the tackle to save the TD.

The Hoya defense really stiffens on the ensuing series: run for no gain, sack, and the long pass on 3d falls incomplete.

From the LU12, Lawrence tries the right side for no gain, Brady rolls left and is forced to throw it away, and on 3d the WR screen to Kenny Mitchell is broken up by LU.
Dobbins 29yd FG attempt is blocked, and it stays 7-0 LU with 5:11 to play in the half.

LU miscue on the 30yd FG attempt leaves it at 7-0, but the Hoyas go three-and-out when an illegal procedure penalty erases a long catch and run on 3d down.
Looks like the D is stepping up, forcing 3d downs, knocking the ball loose. LU definitely has a lot of offensive weapons, however.
LU ends its possession with a punt, 7-0 LU with 9:09 to play in the 2d.

The Lerners would never allow a football game at the National's park. Their relations with the city are already acrimonious, and I believe getting worse.
