I said in the bubble thread that if we finished 4-1, we make the Tourney unless we lose badly on Tuesday. We're now 0-1 in that 5 game stretch, which means we need to win 4 in a row instead of 3 out of 4.

We could use him, and he'd probably be playing decent minutes, but let's not pretend he'd be anything other than maybe a slight upgrade on Julian. In terms of stat production (yeah, different teams, styles, etc), not as good at blocking shots or getting offensive rebounds, better at defensive rebounding, fewer turnovers, maybe a worse shooter. The only reason he's averaging 10 points is he takes a lot of shots when he's in there, something he wouldn't be doing in a Hoya uniform.

But Mason was 15-3; Hofstra 14-4 in the regular season, and Hofstra had three losses worse than Mason's worst loss. We also have three wins better than Cincinnati's best win in Memphis, UConn, and Syracuse. What's Cincinnati's best win other than us, Notre Dammit? What will keep us out is ending the season losing games. Right now we're 3-7 in our last 10, and the 10th game is the SU win so we won't be better than that after Saturday. If we finish 4-1, we can lose on Tuesday and make it, even if it's to Cincinnati.

He had to be referring to Macklin, from the way he talked about JT3 not recruiting size in the frontcourt when he knew he had a need for it, plus the comment about Rivers.
This was a really great interview with Barker, btw, definitely the best one you've done all year.

Enough with the Lichoya talk. Lichoya is not walking through that door. You finish the season with the posters you have, not the posters you wish you had.

Agreed, generally, RDF, particularly the Thabeet thing, but not on the UT-CU cutaway. That's the next game on, and helps assuage the fans of those teams. If instead of another game on after Hoyas there was instead SportsCenter or a World's Strongest Man competition, they would've just gone to commercial. Think of it as an in-house commercial for staying tuned to ESPN after the game was over.

Whose responsiblity was it to guard Devendorf on the Cherry Pick on the last play? I think it was Freeman. Whoever it was, it looked to me like Devendorf and the defender were going back towards the inbounder, then Devendorf gave the guy a shove and took off for the other end. It probably should have been a foul.

I wonder if Elmore's opinion would be different if he'd seen the Ongeneat flagrant on Summers in the previous game.
Positives: -Only down 1 -Half court inside defense -Defensive rebounding has been fairly strong -Early 3 point shooting -Wright has been making better decisions, I think Negatives: -Transition defense -Monroe's silly foul -10 turnovers -Perimeter rotation

No, Len Elmore, that was NOT a "swim move." That was Ongeneat taking a swipe at Summers' head with his elbow.

Thanks to all the roundtable participants, and thanks to the mod for tightening up comments as SF suggested. In terms of CIL management, Barker's comments should have been auto-approved so there was no delay in posting and it was more clear he was one of the roundtable people instead of a semi-random person.

Not a single FGM in OT, by either team. I know, it's part of the game, but I hate to see FTAs decide the game, any game, even when the Hoyas win. That said, you still have to make 'em when you get 'em, and Monroe's misses from the stripe in the extra session proved costly.

If I never see John Cahill at a GU game again, it'll be too soon.

I'm not melting down only because I didn't watch the game.

I'll be in Sec. 403, sitting with an MU alum co-worker. I won't have time for a pre-game meetup, but would likely be up for something after the game.

At first, I thought it was just the way the mikes are set up, but that arena does sound really dead.
