Much will be forgotten, all will be forgiven if we can just sweep the Orangeboys.

Cuse gets manhandled by UConn and loses by 50, leading to an internal implosion in which Paul Harris quits the team again and goes back to Niagara Falls, only this time he takes Johnny Flynn with him. Meanwhile, Devendorf has a "verbal altercation" with Onuaku that lands both of them in the city jail, and Ongenaet is found to be carrying both the H5N1 flu AND a violent strain of European foot & mouth disease.
I can hope, can't I?

Georgetown keeps running out of chances. BUT they've got another good chance here.
Georgetown historically plays Syracuse poorly under III. BUT Georgetown dismantled Syracuse in probably the second-best game the Hoyas have played all year.
It seems that every game, there's been a run in the second half. Before that run, Georgetown is close (Marquette, WVU), or leading big-time. After that run, bad juju happens. The message for this game is the same as all the rest - GU is a better team than Syracuse, but that run will come. How they handle that run will determine whether they win or lose.

Much will be forgotten, all will be forgiven if we can just sweep the Orangeboys. A win here means that this team did something even the Final Four team didn't do--sweep Syracuse. So, no matter what happens, they'll be able to say that they were the 5th Georgetown team to sweep a home and home series with Syracuse (and the 7th team to go 2-0 against them) The other years we swept the home and home were 01-02, 87-88, 86-87 and 83-84. We also went 2-0 against them in 78-79 and 79-80 but the second win both years were in the conference tournaments (ECAC and Big East, respectively).

I look for a great game by the Hoyas. Just hope it's good enough to get a W.

Please please please Hoyas, beat the Orange. Winning at 'cuse would be a much-needed balsam for the thousand little cuts of this season... (no, I'm not drunk at 11:45 am, but that just came out that way).

I am expecting tarkman to personally influence a Hoya victory by his mere presence.

I hate the fact that we're going into Syracuse really NEEDING a win, but yes, if we do come out victorious almost all is forgiven. Cuse is struggling too, losing 5 of their last 7, and will be 6 of 8 if they don't win at the #1 team in the country on Wednesday. We desperately need this one, so I hope the team plays like it.
I will be there with the Hoya Blue bus in a drop of gray amidst a sea of orange, so hopefully our cheers from the upper deck will help.
Every game from here on out is the biggest game of the season for us. Forget everything that's happened, and let's do this.

After reading these thoughts as well as our thoughts regarding the upcoming game versus UConn, I don't imagine any of us expected to be in these positions at this time of the season. Instead of this being a battle to claim dominance of the Big East, both teams appear to be playing for seeding later in the year.
Good luck to your crew this weekend. Of course I hope a handful of your players miss the trip but it should be a good game.

We need a win, but we've been in a lot of "must win" games this season, and thus far we only beat RU, and were not impressive what so ever in the process. Cuse also needs W, so if flynn and company come to play at all, we lose by twenty.

Repeat comments before WVU game, Seton Hall game and both Cincy games and hope for different result.

Every game from here on out is the biggest game of the season for us. Forget everything that's happened, and let's do this. 1. If we beat Syracuse on the road Saturday, I will be beside myself with happiness. However, unless that win is one of the wins that gets us to 9-9 and an NCAA T'ment berth, it will be meaningless. The fact that we swept Syracuse will mean zero to me in retrospect if we are playing in the NIT (or, God forbid, no playing beyond the BET at all). 2. As for the "[f]orget everything that's happened, and let's do this" - that was my attitude as well after WVU, SHU, Cincy #1 and Mquette. Saturday killed that spirit in me. If there was ever must wins in early February, they were RU and Cincy #2 and we just didn't get it done.

Repeat comments before WVU game, Seton Hall game and both Cincy games and hope for different result. I'm pretty sure that's the definition of madness... Look, it's either have an insane positive outlook that ignores the negativity on the court or be driven insane by the negativity on the court. I chose the former.

With a win on Saturday, by at least one metric this season was a success. That's something to fight for.

Repeat comments before WVU game, Seton Hall game and both Cincy games and hope for different result. What about "Repeat comments from before the MU game" ?? Honestly, this team can be good if everything clicks and they've proven they can make everything click even against quality opposition. We have all week to play down our odds of success, but I think the team can catch the Fruit sleeping this weekend.
