My first college basketball game was on Birmingham's south side watching Mike Anderson's UAB squad take on St. Louis. UAB won by 20. Those days, they were called the "fastest 40 minutes in basketball" back then, were some of my favorite memories. Anderson is a very solid coach. I think he will succeed at St. John's. Look forward to seeing him now in Big East play. Was that back when UAB had a backcourt named “Peanut Butter & Jelly” or is my old man memory misremembering? That backcourt of Peanut Butter and Jelly was S Alabama I believe.

What happened to the days where G’town was NEVER outhustled or gave up 2-3 offensive rebounds in a row?? Bring back Perry McDonald, all 6’4” of him who had some fight (literally) in him. Or JYD. This team needs some legit defenders/rebounders.

Shot 41% from 3 this season and had 16 points 14 rebounds against the Hoyas this year 6’5” and 14 rbs?! I live in LR, kid can play, he is Trawick with an explosive offensive game.

I have watched Hoyas basketball for more than 30 years and 50/50 balls and rebounding were strong suits of most clubs. It is discouraging to watch us get beat on hustle alone

Take Govan out. I can't watch this type of effort from a supposed senior leader. Amen! I would rather have defense and effort than to have someone who feigns interest on both ends

I love the freshmen Pat recruited, the 3 that play are warriors and play with passion. Of course they will make mistakes, young people playing major college b-ball do at times. Disappointed with Jesse, as a Senior and team leader, he appears disinterested/apathetic about playing D. Ewing’s biggest job this year will be to get Jesse fired up enough to play on both ends. G’town won the game. Those that pretend to know more about coaching and playing the game than Ewing, Orr and Kirby should re-examine where their TRUE expertise lies.

I attended the game, the first 5 minutes of the game Mac was beaten twice on backdoor cuts for baskets and appeared lost on D. To Pats credit, he sat him after getting beat bad off the dribble shortly after. But he's young and hustles and made plays later in the game. His energy is a difference maker and his teammates support him. Akinjo, Leblanc and Mac r gonna b winners. This team will go as far as the Freshmen take us.

22 TO's and a road win, take it all day. Akinjo could've had about 4 more assists if we could catch in the paint. This crowd was pretty hostile to Mac even in warm ups, he settled in late.

Josh is easily our best athlete, I'm at the game and even their fans didn't know why it took Pat 7 minutes in to second half to give him run when Govan has concrete feet!

I'm not the smartest guy on this board but my father always taught me "Never argue with an idiot because it's hard for people watching to know the difference."

I would be very intrigued to see a kid who weighs 0 play. Maybe he's out of this world and plays well in space.

Just look at the Tigers history of putting bigs in the League. Not since Larry Kenon who played from '74-83 can u find a "big" who averaged double digits in the league and he was a 6'9" forward. Keith Lee, William Bedford were busts. Hope his "handler" does his homework

My parents always taught me never to argue with an idiot because its hard for people watching (in this case, reading) to tell the difference.

The staff is doing what everyone has been clamoring for them to do -- cast a wide net and make sure they have options, since things don't always turn out as you want them to do. How many complaints have we seen around here that JTIII put all of his eggs in one or two baskets and the Hoyas got jammed up when they did not land the recruits they were after? He is trying to make sure that that does not happen again. But, the hand-wringing endures. Ya can't win... THIS!

We need a serviceable center in the worst way, but if best case scenario he comes here and provides outside shooting off the bench, sign him up. Again, I have no idea if he's a legitimate Big East-caliber talent, but if he can shoot it at that size, what's the downside in bringing him in? Worst case scenario, it could help prevent the scenario where 6'5" guy plays at C due to foul trouble. Perry McDonald says Hi

Jon Wallace didn't play nearly the same competition Tre has and he turned out to b just fine. I'm not saying Tre is J Wallace but I trust JTIII knows what he's looking for and feels this kids has "it".

Give Campbell a chance, people on this board weren't high on Markel either and he has turned out to b more than adequate.
