Ok, so now that we have itemized 2014 with 2/3 kid's we're focusing on; where do we turn to in 2015 to fulfill our recruiting needs? Mann, Dickerson seem obvious, but beyond that who is priority?

Bryant Crawford is 1a 1b and 1c to me, he is a must have recruit cause we will need a PG badly in that class.

fwiw scout has him the #2 pg and in the top 20 overall for 2015. Never seen him play but some people at this point think very highly of him.Is he elite? you never know until they show up and play.

In Crawford's freshman year, we'll have senior DSR and sophomore Campbell sharing PG. Campbell is a four-year player with a pass-first mentality and DSR probably will be All-BE playing as a 1 and 2. I don't see a PG as "badly" needed, esp. in our offense. But, don't get me wrong, if Crawford wants to come, he has the offer already and we would love it. I just don't see it as "badly". Let's see how it plays out with the '14 class first as the "badly" need is the C. If we don't get one in '14, then the need in that position becomes "very badly" because the only C listed now for the '14-'15 roster is Hayes. The next big is Copeland.

I'm not convinced that Campbell is the guy and DSR must get significantly better with the ball to play big minutes at the 1.

Campbell doesn't seem like an elite step in from day one type. DSR will never be a 1 guard. He is a scorer and a shooter. He doesn't have the mentality to be a lead guard, nor is he strong enough at this point to play the 1.

Give Campbell a chance, people on this board weren't high on Markel either and he has turned out to b more than adequate.

Who said he wasn't getting a chance? Markel wasn't ready to step in as a frosh and run the squad. Getting a stud who can is a real need.

disagree CCoven Markel came in with much higher expectations and it took him a while to meet them. Campbell will be expected to contribute quickly, that can be very tough on a freshman and his future development

He doesn't have the mentality to be a lead guard, nor is he strong enough at this point to play the 1. We're discussing a sophomore Campbell (when Crawford would arrive), not day one Campbell. He does a great job now as PG for the pretty good teams he plays for. After a year in the system, sophomore Campbell will be able to handle PG duties quite well. As for DSR, I completely (and respectfully) disagree with you. As a senior, the offense will go through him, whether that's from the 1 or the 2. He will probably be the highest mpg player on the team. The kid's a natural leader, has that mentality, is strong now and will be stronger this season, and he brings the ball up now and then. Senior DSR will be an All-BE and probably the highest ppg player in the JT3 era. The need is at the 5, which could be covered in 2014. If we get an E. Robinson, then JT3 has all the positions covered for 2014/15. Imagine if GW cannot play this season and stays his fourth year, that year. Wow! GW-Cameron-Copeland sharing the 2 to 4 with a 5 like Robinson? Now that is size and talent. Throw in LJ. How about the other recruiting studs capable of playing 2 to 4 who are under JT3's watch? It becomes about getting the best players and having a deep, talented bench ready to step up. According to the recruiting table, JT3 would have from 4 to 6 available scholarships (I mention 4 just in case GW is there) for the 2015 class. Great spot to be in! Again, let's see how the 2014 class wraps up before deciding which is the pressing need, if any, in 2015, but it's definitely not PG.

Tre' ran one of the top AAU programs in the country and before he got hurt he held his own vs. Some of the best players in the country. In fact in the spring he was arguably playing as well as any pg on the circuit. He's a true pg who can make an open three.

I hope so ID. Sounds like a good 4 year guy, pass first. But doesn't seem to blow people away. Seems like a Tyker Thornton type. More of a come off the bench guy.
Doesn't mean we back off pf's in 2015.

Jon Wallace didn't play nearly the same competition Tre has and he turned out to b just fine. I'm not saying Tre is J Wallace but I trust JTIII knows what he's looking for and feels this kids has "it".

Crawford is a PG who is an elite talent that is from DC. gotta try and secure him. I do think its a need, because I really don't want DSR to be strictly a PG first. I'd like to be able to move him off ball and not lose the threat, plus if you seen Crawford play we really wouldn't be having this discussion.

I agree on Crawford. He's elite, he's local, go hard after him.
