Crawford is a PG who is an elite talent that is from DC. gotta try and secure him. I do think its a need, because I really don't want DSR to be strictly a PG first. I'd like to be able to move him off ball and not lose the threat, plus if you seen Crawford play we really wouldn't be having this discussion. DSR would not need to be "strictly a PG first" in 2015 with sophomore Campbell being a true PG. DSR will be the combo scorer. The point is that with Campbell and DSR, Crawford becomes a want, not a badly need. With Hayes the only center in that 2015 roster (as of now), a center that can start or play plenty of minutes in 2015 is a badly need. Therefore, a good 2014 center recruit who would be a 2015 sophomore is a badly need. If we don't get one in 2014, then a good center is a badly need for that 2015 class.

I'm assuming at this point we land a quality big or two. My hopes are Elbert and Bentil which would fill our needs. We can then turn our attention to the 15/16's. from the sounds of things we will have some real talent on our roster. A 5 will be a top priority in 15 as well.

You're just looking at it from a year to year basis and to me that's not the way to build a roster.. In 15-16 you're right barring any injuries the team could do well with DSR & Campbell as the ball-handling guards. Now look at the roster for the 16-17 season.. Campbell will be the only experienced ball-handling guard on the roster and he'll be a Junior, that's not a good look in my opinion.. The team needs someone to at least be "in training" in the backcourt for the 15-16 season. I'm firmly in the "must" have camp on this one.

We're not disagreeing, E. The previous posts were not discussing having players in training for future roster past 2015. The discussion above started because someone stated that Crawford "is a must have recruit cause we will need a PG badly in that class" (ref. to the 2015 class) . From that statement, it would seem as if we didn't have a true sophomore PG (Campbell) on that roster.
If you look at the recruiting table, the 2015 roster will have (not counting on injuries and transfers): Campbell (soph) Domingo (senior) Peak (soph) Copeland (soph) Hayes (senior) DSR (senior) Cameron (junior) ...and six open slots which could end up being four if Robinson comes in '14 and Whittington doesn't play this year and stays two. (Btw, what a foundation to build upon!!!)
Clearly, a center is the badly needed player in 2014 because Hayes is the only center listed. If we don't get one in 2014, then a center that can play right away is an emergency need in 2015. As for PG, and as you can see, we will have a very good true PG with one year under his belt, senior DSR who can play it and our offensive system which allows players of any size with good handles to bring it up (see Otto).
Again, we've got PG covered. As much as we like the sound/potential of a 7'0" senior Hayes, the emergency, the priority or the bad need is a good center (or two) or we'll end up with 4s playing out of position at 5.
Crawford is wishlist for the rest of the open slots. With his passing, penetrating, speed and selection of shots, he will be awesome in our offense.

Give me the best player on the board available and figure out the rest later.. With four to six open slots, JT3 and staff have that luxury.

That's a great package of highlights of Crawford. Looks like a dynamite player. He sees the court very well and clearly enjoys the well-placed pass. His shot looks good enough to keep defenses honest. Quick on defense. Local guy. Need to be on him very hard.

Not to mention Gonzaga uses a very similar offense to us. It has "Princeton Principles" so its not like we have to sell him on the offense.

we're on him hard, as he consistently mentions us near or at the top and as being on him the hardest or one of the hardest. I'd almost bet III is on him first and brings Broadus with him. I like the highlights mostly cause it's not AAU, but his league games.
