One hopes Mac will be back. Either way, continue improving the D and moving the ball. 1000 FTs daily until Saturday.

Gonna be a tough one. Defense and rebounding. And cut down on turnovers.
26 more from Greg would help too!😁😁

Gotta think this will be a very high scoring game. Hope Jessie doesn’t get swallowed up by the pace of the game. Going to need everyone to contribute in this one and yes, hit the boards hard. This will be a real test for Akinjo.

I think St Johns is the best team in the BE so this is going to be an interesting game to watch. Should be a nice test for our guys.
I wouldn't expect Mac to play Saturday, maybe next Saturday vs Providence...

Pickett went for 16 pts, 9 rebs and 4 assists in last year's home win versus St John's. It breathed some confidence back in his game and results followed after a stretch similar to what he is going through now. Let's hope for something similar and I'll like our chances.

Making those shots on the road might be a little tougher, but the Hoyas need to play at a pace they are comfortable and force St John's to make contested shots. As much as the Hoyas like to run and play fast, they also need to make sure they have a good floor balance and don't give up easy transition baskets. If they can keep St John's from going on one of those 18-0 runs I think this should be a very competitive game.

If I recall correctly, Pickett ended his season with a 0-7 game against St Johns. Here is hoping he continues to do the little things (and some big ones) in the next game.

I watched their Marquette game. They have a lot of explosive guys but not much offensive flow. Akinjo has to take care of the ball against Ponds. Match up on their shooters and rebound and we have a shot. They don't have anyone to match up with Jessie but the down side is they don't have anyone he can really guard outside of Keita who probably won't play much. Gotta hope they are cold and we are moving the ball.

If both squads are healthy then one big advantage the Hoyas have is depth. There are 9 Hoya players with 15+ min per game and the 10th has 8+ per game. St. John's only has 6 players over 15 min with the 7th at 14 and the 8th at 7. Fresher legs could help out the Hoyas as the game goes on.
If Mac and Mourning remain out this is less of an advantage of course.

All about defense. Johnnies are freakishly athletic but still seem to suffer from that playground mentality when they are challenged. I was at last year's game and St. John's just gave us the game with their stupid shot selection and immaturity. I just hope we have a big enough crowd to get in their heads. As I've said before Mullins is a horrible coach. I really think if we keep it close they will choke away the game.

Apparently, St. John’s plays Villanova on Tuesday. I noticed one of their board posters already looking past our game. Hopefully, the team will do the same.

Apparently their SBNation blogger is not looking past the Hoyas. And, it is on CBS so that it seems unlikely the Johnnies will look past the Hoyas.

Can't predict or understand how some of these youngsters think sometimes.
