Wow. I figured we were done big man shopping but this kid is another 1 and doner...forget what he is ranked. 7-1 guys who can handle and shoot and have some post game are one and doners.
Also this may further show that Trey is a walk on and the staff thinks they have 3 more ships

This doesn't make any sense at all..
The program needs ball handlers going forward..

I would think it is not a "committable" offer, right? Thinking only Rabb has that.

This doesn't make sense at all, since nothing can ever happen that would prevent one of our centers from playing.

Like his game and potential just needs to tighten it up a bit…
Recent Game I saw he was blocking everything in sight was very impressive also very good passer. Can make a spectacular play one minute than a wtf the next, not uncommon for a young big just needs reps/experience and simplify things a bit..
In some ways maybe too good not to offer think he would do well in our system and might mean we’re expecting to have 3 more ships available. Games I saw he was the best most impactful player for Takeover tbh. They went 1-2 the session he didn’t play edging GA Stars who is one of the worst teams in EYBL (Sorry Noah!)

Gotta trust the staff with this one. Recent developments suggest they know what they are doing.

I think a lot of our fans may not be paying that much attention to this guy because his rankings aren't eye-popping, but I think he's likely a future pro. He's in the same group with Rabb, Labissiere and Comanche--we really don't NEED help at their position(s), but if you can land a 6'10 or bigger future pro you do it and you figure out the rest later. I don't see us taking another big guy unless it's one of those 4. He's probably not priority #1 for us, but if he wants to come, sign him up. It doesn't hurt that he's a TTO guy and we want to continue recruiting guys that come through that organization.

Nathanhm, yes this seems a bit strange and EtomicB I would have to agree with you that we need more guards going forward. But I've often wondered if JT3 has offered uncommittable scholarships offers to kids, "not GU sought after recruits", as a way of peaking interest for other programs. Not that Pap needs help with his recruiting but it does seems strange. Another point to look at could Pap be a back up plan to Rabb or is there another transfer afoot(transfer out not a transfer in just to clarify).

I guess Govan is our only true center, so we may need a another. Seems like a luxury, but other teams load up.

This doesn't make sense at all, since nothing can ever happen that would prevent one of our centers from playing. The program just signed 2 top 50 type low post players for 2015 in the last 2 weeks and are heavily involved with Rabb who may be the best post player in the class.. Rabb just had a great visit to the school earlier this week and it's followed up by an offer to another top post player? I find that very strange.. Btw, what message does this send to Dickerson & Govan? That you're preparing in case they get hurt or something unforeseen..

I love how in 2 months we've gone from "we don't have enough talent" to "oh god we're stockpiling too much talent!!"
(And I know it has to do with needing guards now, just think it's funny still)

These are the types of "problems" Kentucky and Duke have.
Of course we need guards but that will come. Besides, I don't recall many teams in basketball history that had problems winning because they had too much talent in the front court.

I do not see why this offer is a problem. For all we know, Rabb could pop for another school anytime, so why not? It's unlikely to happen soon but you never know. In my mind, if a future pro quality player has interest in us it makes sense to recruit them.
Having too much talent is never a problem otherwise Kentucky would never get any players. These types of situations always seem to have a way of working themselves out so I'm not concerned here at all. Also, these kids are of the mentality that nothing is going to stop them from contributing so I'm not concerned.
Added bonus: For those who want a bigger rotation, this type of recruiting is what we need for that to ever become a reality.
