Like I posted on other thread, less Govan and more LeBlanc and Carter. 20 mpg for Govan, Trey, Carter and Josh. Keep them fresh for the BE, then reshuffle minutes.

Like I posted on other thread, less Govan and more LeBlanc and Carter. I would like to see more LeBlanc and Carter also, but Jessie needs to play, and play well, for this team to have much success at all this season.

Like I posted on other thread, less Govan and more LeBlanc and Carter. This is asinine unless you just mistyped the name after less. There have been a lot of bad takes on this board before but this is near the top.

I understand the thought process by drquigley, but I think it is an over reaction to Govan's worst game and Carter's competence in the minutes he did get.
Govan's lack of effective D bothers me too, but the Hoyas need Govan badly on offense and it usually more than makes up for his defense. I think the article on casual made the clearest case yet of what needs to change, Mourning needs a reduction in minutes, plain and simple.
I would love to see the team play a more complete game and win this one going away, but I have feeling Ewing is going to keep tinkering with rotations and a good rhythm is going to be hard to achieve in this one.

There have been a lot of bad takes on this board before but this is near the top. I'm not saying no Govan. I'm proposing starting LeBlanc and have Govan come off the bench. I don't see how anyone can watch them both and not think LeBlanc brings much more to the game than Govan. Govan's defensive liabilities more than offsets his offensive assets and are an important reason for our abysmal defensive numbers.

Wait so you are starting LeBlanc over Govan instead of LeBlanc over Mourning? What is Trey giving us that Jessie isn't? It certainly isn't defense. I don't disagree that right now LeBlanc is our best overall player, but if anyone is sitting to give Josh more minutes it's not our most efficient offensive player, even keeping in mind recent struggles during the last two games.

I think these guys are the worst team on our schedule. This should be a game that we win handily. Try out lineups and see what works. They played well against Howard and that's it. This should be a big win. Should be a game that we see how good the bench really is.

You must really want to see Mac and Akinjo pounding the air out of the ball. Govan averages near 20 a game for us, and because of his offensive skillset, forces opposing teams to play defense a certain way. Leblanc does not have the offensive game. Additionally Leblanc is not a 5, in fact he's a bit undersized at the 4. He's long and bouncy which makes up for some of that, but he is not all that big and he absolutely would get abused trying to defend in the post against bigs from every other Big East team but probably Creighton. It's not a bad matchup idea against Nova given the fact that Paschall is not all that big and is more of an inside out guy. Leblanc certainly has to play along side Govan, Mourning, or Carter, but I would absolutely never play 2 of those 3 together. This is where we miss Walker as he probably could have competed for minutes at the 4 and seemed to be a solid defender and decent rebounder.

I absolutely want to see Mackinjo pound the air out of the ball. As noted on another thread LeBlanc is in track to break the record for double doubles by a freshman. Add in what he contributes on defense (and what Govan costs us) and he absolutely contributes more to this team than Govan. Pair LeBlanc with Pickett and Malinowski and we have a much more athletic and well rounded club. Govan can spell LeBlanc, Pickett or Malinowski and play 20 or so minutes a game. But Josh Leblanc is more than just the future of this team. To paraphrase George Allen, The future is now.

But Josh Leblanc is more than just the future of this team. To paraphrase George Allen, The future is now. Never should any basketball fan ever want their guards to pound out the ball. The offense runs very poorly, no flow, no player movement and absolutely no benefits. That's exactly why the wizards suck and the NBA is boring to watch. Guards dribble the ball extensively and take the air out of it. Your essentially asking for slow moving, allowing many transition baskets, 5 assists a game for the team basketball. You win games by moving the ball period. Any guard who tries to take the air out of the ball knows it's how they lose. Dribble out the clock, take a bad shot. Is that what you want? James and Mac shouldn't be holding the ball at the top of the key doing nothing, neither should any player. That's exactly why Jagan was in the game late against Syracuse, he never tried to take the air out of the ball. And when he did, he looked clueless and lost us that game. That's what you want? I'm sorry man but I couldn't disagree with your take on that any more. It's slow and inefficient. No team should pound the clock out with no play or plan ever let alone the entire game. That's what happens on our worst possessions and the players know that. That's why you get everyone involved to increase those driving lanes and to get shots for everyone and make the defense guard everyone. I don't know what I would do if any player for that matter pounded the air out of the ball the entire game but, it certainly wouldn't be pretty.

Like I posted on other thread, less Govan and more LeBlanc and Carter. Really?! If you really meant to say less Mourning instead of Less Govan...then I agree with you whole heartedly. We all know our best 5 are Akinjo, MAC, Jamorko, Josh and Jessie. It’s that simple. Ewing is using Josh off the bench as a spark plug...but I hope this changes by BE play. Would like to see 4 of the 5 starters play 30 minutes a game with the exception of Mac who would play 20 minutes.

For those who have cut the chord, this game is not streamable. FOXGO does do a replay At 8PM. I don’t mind missing Little Rock, listening to Rich is always enjoyable, but I see that the two Butler games are in the same boat. ALL BE games should be available to stream
