Wright in 07 & Braswell in 08 > McClain in 07 Totally irrelevant. The question is whether we'd prefer Wright and Braswell or McClain and Braswell.

Austin didn't walk out with the rest of Dematha, and I got worried that I'd be 0-3; luckily, he strolled out a minute later.
By my count Austin was 3/7 in the first half, 0/3 from behind the arc. He didn't look for his shot too much, and had a few nice assists. He had a very nice mid range J, and a nice putback off a FT.
Dematha was actually trailing most of the game, and were down 26-19 about halfway through the 2nd. At this point Austin hadn't shot the whole half, and got visibly annoyed. He then proceeded to hit a nasty J, a 3, another 3, then another nasty J (and then got a technical for trash talking). He later added 2 FTs after he was intentionally fouled on a breakway, for an unofficial total of 18 points on 7/12 shooting, 2/5 from three. He had 4 or 5 assists.
Overall I was very impressed with Austin. His midrange J was simply unstoppable. He used his size advantage to get good position, then just pulled up and drained it. His 3 ball looked good too, even though it was off a bit early. He also showed a good handle and passing instincts. And, although he doesn't look it, he is very athletic. He outran people on the break, and absolutely skied for some boards and putback attempts - at one point literally jumping over the back of a defender. I have no doubt he could have easily dominated the whole game had he felt like it. The D was heavily focused on him, and really none of his shots were open, yet he was still 7/12.
Braswell, as he apparently usually is, was fairly quiet. I think he had 11-12 points. He rarely gets the ball in the paint, and moslty scores garbage points. However, he shows good speed, handle and passing for a big man. His jumper is sort of ugly, but I assume he can make it since he took some last week as well. He has good shotblocking instincts, and after being a bit lazy on the boards early looked good there. One strange note is that he always appears to be in pain when he is running.

In the first page link, games are now listed as going through July 30th. I'm officially worried for Kenner.

HoyaAtHeart, since you seem to be plugged into this - do you think you'll have any idea ahead of time which games the big names will show up for and which they won't?

Does this mean there's no Kenner League at McD this year? This seems to be taking up a lot of the weekends Kenner would. I hope not - that would make my summer much sadder. Maybe it will just start a week or two late this year.

There are barely 65 teams that I want to see keep playing - who wants to see extra games involving teams 66-128? It's absurd.

Very good, interesting post. I expect our improved rebounding and defense to make up for what will probably be a less efficient offense.

So just a wait and see - thanks for the info. Any idea of when we usually hear what seats we get? Steve said "this summer" . . .

Got my YA tickets right at 9 this morning. Do people who had them last year carry over into better seats, or will mine be really good since I was probably one of the first to order?

Wallace may or may not be on scholarship... ... but if he is, are we certain he is on ATHLETIC scholarship? Well, Georgetown doesn't have full academic scholarships. Also, I believe that once you have recruited a player, even if you give him another type of aid it still counts as one of 13 available scholarships.

Way its the offseason, if you keep asking that question there won't be too many interesting posts on this board. the_way's departure from this board would be pretty interesting too.

Ashanti is by far the biggest loss of the three seniors. We have a direct replacement for Bowman, so he isn't a big worry. I am confident that Summers/Spann/Egerson can approach Owens overall contribution (which means playing any D at all), but losing his 3s will hurt.
We have no one who can make up for what Ashanti gave us. Who on next years team can create their own shot off the dribble? Who can make a deep three with a man in their face? No, Ashanti wasn't a star - but the fact that we will miss him so much shows the major problems we have in the backcourt, which probably won't be solved until Freeman gets here.
