Bennett is a very good coach, but he offers a limited ceiling. He's not going to bring in the top recruits. And as good as his resume is, St. Mary's never plays anybody. They pad their schedule every year. He's just not the right fit here.
I gotta be honest, I am very underwhelmed with all of the candidates I have heard mentioned.
And for those of you who want an unproven, inexperienced coach, it's gonna take that guy longer to rebuild. Typically they don't have the built in relationships to amass talent quickly. I'll take Crean over any of the guys mentioned and I am not his biggest fan.

I still think Smart is in play. He might want a soft landing spot, people at Texas have been very critical of him.

We were never in it for Hubb which is just strange and a reason a change was needed. Too many examples like him.

It's somewhat concerning how bad Shaka has been at Texas, and he's recruited well. Did he succeed at VCU due to taking over a program with strong continuity? Have no question he would recruit well here which is what we need. Just question if he understands roster construction, and making pieces fit. But it's worth the risk, he's got a high ceiling. I think seeing as most of his players this year were young. I dont really take too much from that season. He also gets alot of recruits from the Tidewater area which is a fertile ground plus i think with his personality we take from the stranglehold Maryland has in DC. Can't use that excuse in today's game. Most teams are young. They lost because their pieces didn't fit and they had a collection of athletes and not intelligent basketball players.

Probably too late to make up ground for the local top '18 kids but the 2nd tier kids could be in play. 2019 is where the new staff has to really deliver.

The Verizon Center is not a positive for Georgetown.

Patrick has been an assistant to several very good coaches in the NBA, and been coached by JT Jr and Pat Riley, a couple Hall of Famers. Have to assume he knows a bit about hoops. If he hires a couple of strong assistants who know recruiting, it could absolutely work. He has lobbied openly for an NBA head coach position and interviewed for just about every opening over the past few years, yet they all have passed. Isn't that telling? Correct. He's been begging for a job. Plus guys like him normally don't have the taste for recruiting. They have accomplished too much to woo 17 year olds.

I am thinking it's Ewing. That hire does not excite me. Should have made this move weeks ago and tried to get Keatts. Would Dooley leave Providence for this job?

I could care less about being an NBA assistant. No evidence he can be the CEO, which is what HCs of high major programs have to do. Can he build a staff? Can he recruit? Can he motivate? Can he coach? There's no evidence to any of those questions.
Get a coach that checks off most of those questions.

He has no credentials to take over a high major program. This is silly.

Duke doesn't have a PG commit for 2017. When players decommit, they have a pretty good idea where they are going. They never do it blindly.

Cant get much worst now with the Waters news... He could face more transfers. Transfers wouldn't be a terrible thing.

Peak got blocked. Marcus missed a bunny. This loss was on us. peak got flattened after the block and marcus got bumped on the put back. Peak jumped into the defenders. He's never getting that call. And Derrickson just flat out missed. He got bumped, so what. Sour grapes. Let's stop making excuses for the players. I want change in the direction of the program, but am not absolving players from blame. St John's was the tougher team. They deserved to win.

Is Bradley getting T'ed for the shove? He was probably the worst offender and didn't get anything.

Frustration boiling over. That was intentional, but it wasn't dirty or dangerous. Just an overreaction. Looked like Mullin was yelling at Peak. That should not be allowed.

Half our roster belongs somewhere like VCU, then again they are better than us...
