Commitment to defense and rebounding is the best place to start.

Commitment to defense and rebounding is the best place to start. I don't know, 31 games in - why start now??đ

It may sound ridiculous, but we can absolutely win this game. It's about a 50/50 matchup, and I think that the betting line will probably reflect it. I would love to send St. John's back home to Queens and take a third shot at Villanova. While it's a cliche to say that it's hard to beat the same team three times in a season, it's grounded in some truth. I don't think it would happen, but you never know. Let's get a shot, at least, by defeating St. Johns.

It's unlikely this year, but beating St. John's would give us am opportunity to do so against Villanova. I suspect the team will be ready to go, and my best guess is that we win this game and set up a chance to pull one of the great upsets of the season against Villanova. We had a similar scenario a year ago and kept it somewhat close. Until they're out, I'll be pulling for them.

I'm resigned to the idea that JT3 will be back next season so a win in NYC and a shot at the top dog would give him a chance to regain at least a tiny bit of momentum after this cataclysmic stretch. I do think another game against Villanova would probably be ugly. But at this point who cares?

We played incredibly ugly and still had a chance. Play an actual basketball game without sloppy, lazy turnovers. Don't force shots. Box out a little.
Play on Thursday.

turnovers and rebounding. be at least decent in those 2 areas and i think hoyas win rather easily. is that asking too much?

Of course I'll be rooting for the Hoyas to win. But there's a little something inside of me that wants this all to be over. I hate feeling this way.

Will be at the game, and I think we have about a 40% chance of winning. Its been a tough season, but I must support this team...warts and all. Go Hoyas!

One of the crazy stats of the season:
Marcus only had 7 games in which he scored in double figures. Our record in those games? 2 W's and 5 L's.

I feel oddly positive about this game and this tournament. On one hand, it has been an absolutely awful week. All of the infighting in the fan base, in the press, and in the post-game accounts from Saturday has finally gotten to me. After all the stress and consternation, I just wish that something good could finally happen for this team. But, even if it doesn't, there is literally nowhere for us to go but up.
As I noted earlier, Georgetown hasn't won back-to-back postseason tournament games since 2010. I also don't think Georgetown has upset a higher-seeded team since the 2010 Big East Tournament, though it's possible that I could be missing something in there. I think we get past St. John's. The Johnnies are a streaky team, not particularly good, and we usually respond to a poor performance on the court with a relatively strong performance. Saturday was a low point, and I think we dig in and get a win to open up league play. Then, the question just becomes whether we can hang with Villanova for a full 40 minutes. That'll be a tough task. If we can make it to Friday, I may try to come up to MSG.

HOWEVER ... how great would it be for this team to make a run ... in order to make a run they'd have to upset Nova in on Thursday ... I hope JT3 let's the kids just play ball. There is absolutely nothing to lose at this point. Hopefully the players understand that the pressure is off. If the unbelievable happens ... great ... but they really shouldn't be looking past St. John's. Let these kids loose ... let's see them drop 90 like USC Upstate, Lasalle or Coppin State ... on any given day that St. John's team is ripe for a severe beating. Blow'em out!

A close loss would be fine.
I'm not sure anyone needs to watch Josh Hart kill Georgetown one more time.

We won't beat St. John's in MSG. This team has no fight in it if that wasn't clearly seen in our senior day debacle.
