It may sound ridiculous, but we can absolutely win this game. It's about a 50/50 matchup, and I think that the betting line will probably reflect it. I would love to send St. John's back home to Queens and take a third shot at Villanova. While it's a cliche to say that it's hard to beat the same team three times in a season, it's grounded in some truth. I don't think it would happen, but you never know. Let's get a shot, at least, by defeating St. Johns. There may be some truth in the cliche that it's hard to beat a team three times in the parity-driven NFL, but nobody says that in NCAA college basketball when you lose the first two by an average of 20 points. If only you had spoken to BYU last night before they followed up their two 13 point regular season losses with a 31 point loss to St Mary's. Actually, maybe you should have spoken to St Mary's so they understood the difficult task in front of them. Then you could've spoken to Gonzaga about their game against Santa Clara....well, you get the point.

I agree with your general point, but in both games we were pretty close and then fell apart at the end. And we didn't play particularly well. I am not saying we are going to play great, but if we got hot and hit some shots anything is possible. KenPom puts our odds of winning the BET at 0.6%. So while I will always have hope until it's over, I am not counting on it.

We are due for a game in which all of the players play well together, score like they are supposed to (Bradley hits hooks, MD scores more than 12 pts, Peak scores in double figures, etc...), defend as they should, rebound like they own it against shorter teams, and foul at an average NCAA rate. If so, we would win the BET.

I know a lot of Hoya fans who aren't even going to watch this game, many of which are rooting for a loss in hope that it brings us one step closer to change. Strange times.

Maybe not a "fan" of the team but certainly can root against because you are a fan of the "PROGRAM."

Maybe not a "fan" of the team but certainly can root against because you are a fan of the "PROGRAM." I still think it's harsh to root against players - many of whom have given a lot to our program despite the results we've had over the last couple of years - simply because someone wants change in the program. This is especially so considering that tomorrow's game is unlikely to have much impact on the decision of whether to retain JT3. And even if we win that, we need to get through Villanova, AND then win two more games to even win the BET and get to the NCAA tournament. So even for the biggest JT3 detractors or people who want change, it's probably safe to root for our guys tomorrow.

I am absolutely not watching the game tomorrow night. I am absolutely not watching the game tomorrow night. I am absolutely not watching the game tomorrow night. I am absolutely not watching the game tomorrow night. I am absolutely not watching the game tomorrow night. I am absolutely not watching the game tomorrow night.
Maybe if I repeat it enough times I won't find myself planted in front of the TV stupidly hoping the Hoyas can get by St. John's, win a grudge match against Nova, surprise the world and sweep to a BE Tournament championship. "I JUST CAN'T QUIT THESE GUYS".

We won't beat St. John's in MSG. This team has no fight in it if that wasn't clearly seen in our senior day debacle. eagle, I clearly recognize your reverse psychic karma at work, well played !

I still root for the team, but the losses are expected and don't sting. Maybe this is the apathy stage.

We got ourselves a Vegas pickem ladies and gentleman. That's right our beloved Hoyas are playing in a Big East Wednesday night game against their dead equals at this point, St. John's.

State of the program but as 2003 and 4ever say we should be happy or we could become DePaul. We are also a clean program that just has half our malcontents transfer out which is why we have just a low graduation rate. If you want us to win tomorrow all you need me to do is bet against us. If a pick 'em I may do it just so it softens my pain tomorrow if we lose and if we win I can part with a few dollars for the good of the cause.

We are also a clean program that just has half our malcontents transfer out which is why we have just a low graduation rate. I have never said we should be happy with our current result. Show me where I said that (note: you can't because I've never said that). And I've never said we would become DePaul. But I think they are a good example of trying to improve and failing to do it. Is it possible we could hire a coach that is no better than our current situation? Absolutely. Am I saying it's likely? No. But it's a real possibility. The fact that you can't admit that just shoes how one dimensional your viewpoint is.
