Having gotten lured into the conversation, let me just say I don’t think Rick Pitino is our guy, either. Have nothing against the man; watched him for many years as a coach; and yes, he is a great coach! I would love to see him hired at Georgetown in some other role, just not as the head coach. We need someone young and upcoming as the partial face of the program.

Just relieved. Time to move on. Quite frankly, I believe Ewing is relieved.Naw, Patrickk Ewing wanted to come back and will miss that $4 million per year paycheck. He is going to sit home and do what now?? He is going to miss being at the university, the players and coaching the sidelines during games There is nothing else like it. I hear you, but deep down I believe Patrick knew the college game was not for him. Ewing is a great guy, but I don’t see him as a master motivator, a player development kind of coach. There is no way of telling, of course. However, if after 6 years, this did not become apparent to him, then something is wrong, he would be clearly missing the obvious. And mind you, I like Ewing. His commitment to, and play at Georgetown, his Caribbean roots—along with the charismatic giant of a coach, John Thompson is what got me hooked on Georgetown. I wish him well.

Kevin Ollie is intriguing! Always loved watching him coach at UConn.

It's redemption time. Give me a coach who looks the part and can coach. The more I see of Chris Beard, I think he is our guy!

About Cooley, I agree he is an excellent coach. You raised an excellent question: What would he have done with this team?
No doubt, something is amiss!

Looking at our opponent today, a few of those guys have been playing together for at least 3-4 years. Honest question: Should we also be taking into consideration how how little time our guys have had to gel as a team? We obviously have talent. When I think back to all the teams that have gone all the way, teams like 'Nova, the most outstanding features, that I can remember are cohesiveness, consistency, experience, and pretty much knowing how each other thinks on the court. Can we honestly expect this team to be doing the things that great teams develop over 3-5 years?

We are playing good! We need more swarm defense, deflections, and less turnovers. Akok is really developing as a three-point threat!

What does looks the part mean? Simple, like a Bobby Night or JT look. I am a sucker for a charismatic coach; and I think a lot of young people respond to that.

Haven't had a chance to go through all the chatter (positive--or at least neutral term, here), but I have to say I love the way our guys played last night. What is somewhat depressing to me, however, is how these opposing teams are killing me with these 3's! They are even using decoys of driving the lane and then snapping the ball back out for the long ball. That's what made the difference in the game; that and not going deeper into our bench. If we can correct these two areas we definitely can win at least five games.

We let that one get away. You could see the confidence on the part of Syracuse building as they were able to climb back into the game. We did not play patiently enough against their zone.

Wow! When we win the negative folks in this board find something else to complain about!
Great, gutsy win by our guys!
